This review is from: Coheed and Cambria: Live at the Starland Ballroom (DVD)
This DVD/CD combo is a very worthy effort by Coheed and Cambria. It includes all of their hit songs and they are a joy to watch live. The only bad thing about this package is that the audio on the DVD is sub-par. This doesnt mean that it is bad, it just isnt the kind of quality I would expect from a big time band like Coheed and Cambria. Even though the audio isnt that great, I still watch the thing all the time. The best part of this package is the CD that comes along with it. This is worth buying this product alone. I suggest putting the CD on full blast and watching the DVD on mute. All in all I give the DVD 3 out of 5 and the CD 5 out of 5 which averages out to a decent 4. This should hold anyone that needs a Coheed fix until they put out their next CD

Good DVD, lackluster CD,
By SkinLab "SkinLab" (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Coheed and Cambria: Live at the Starland Ballroom (DVD)
The DVD portion of this package is excellent. The sound quality is great and the camera work is decent. Having all of C&C's music videos in one place is great, as are the (brief) interviews and the "making-of" documentary.
The CD portion on the other hand is a bit of a let down. Although it's taken directly from the same show at the Starland Ballroom, the audio quality is not up to par with the DVD. If one didn't know any better, they might mistake the CD for being recorded from a different show; it actually sounds that much different (and average at best). Buy the set for the DVD and just think of the CD as a bonus and any C&C fan should be satisfied.

a good dvd for the best live band in the world,

This review is from: Coheed and Cambria: Live at the Starland Ballroom (DVD)
This DVD is a great benchmark of Coheed and Cambria's live show from the IKSSE3 tours. every song is a stellar performance and fun to watch. the audio quality is top notch and the camera work is just as good. The set was a bit short for the average Coheed headlinig show. The only problem is that no matter how good this DVD is it can never fully replicate the power, energy, and emotion of Co&Ca's live show. that would just be impossible.

Coheed and Cambria Shine in New Jersey,
By Chris Richard (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: NEW Live At Starland Ballroom (DVD) (DVD)
I have been a Coheed fan for about 2 years now and am so pleased that the band pulled off such an amazing live video. The set is intense and the energy in the room flows right onto the TV. Claudio's voice is pushed to the limit hitting notes I've never heard him hit before, and his solo performance of "The Light and the Glass" shows his trully masterful skill on his instrument. Not only does the DVD have one live show, but it acctually includes 4 songs from another concert, as well as all of the band's videos and a very informative "Making of" video that shows the boys goofing around on the set of the "Blood Red Summer" Video. I had alot of Fun watching the Concert and the interviews and videos, and the audio CD that comes with the DVD has excellent sound quality as well. All in all an excellent and well advised buy.

Okay, to everyone who says the sound quality stinks for this performance, you are both right and wrong. The sound quality for the CD that comes with the DVD is awesome. It's excellent, and I think it was recorded near flawlessly. You can hear both guitar parts, the bass, and the drums just like you are supposed to. As for the quality on the DVD, I believe it is the exact same if you watch in 5.1 surround. Some of the sound is lost if you're not surround sounding it, but the quality is still more than enough to seriously rock out to.
If I am going to complain about anything, it is going to be the concert footage itself. The film is often grainy at times, and I sometimes wonder if anyone checked the stationary camera angles before pressing the "record" button to make sure they were actually on target. The footage from other concert DVDs, such as Reel Big Fish's, Korn's, or Something Corporate's is crisper and cleaner, but watching Coheed rock out like that is tremendously awesome. However they filmed it could have also done a better job of picking up the various lighting used, but still, it's a pretty sweet DVD. The price on this DVD rocks all! $20 for both a DVD and a CD of the show? Awesome! Honestly, it is worth the price for the CD alone. At this point I'm considering the DVD itself as the bonus disc because hearing Coheed live on my iPod or in my car is so intense it's amazing. In Keeping Secrets has to be one of the best live songs ever, and the CD captures it flawlessly!

Okay...this DVD just came out yesterday, and ive already watched the concert twice and listened to it on cd 4 times. First off the price tag is AMAZiNG...20 bucks for a DVD with an audio cd...thats just wrong. As far as the quality goes, i've seen Coheed twice and met the band once, and this concert is deffinently them at their best. Of course its not going to be cd perfect, its a concert for gods sake. The guitar riffs are dead on and claudio almost sounds like he's in the studio. Not only do i reccomend this DVD for Coheed and Cambria fans, but for the entire music loving community...Now if you excuse me i have a DVD to watch...again

Fifteen dollars have never gone this far...,

I just recieved my copy of this DVD/CD package today and I can't tell you how impressed I am with it. The DVD includes 10 lives tracks that are excellent quality and the CD contains the audio from the same live show, which is a terrific addition as it allows you to listen to the show without having to use a DVD player. The DVD bonus features are also well-done. Aside from the live show itself, you're give four more live songs from Skate and Surf, three music videos, the making of the Blood Red Summer Music video, and two interviews with members of the band. If you're a fan of the 'Heed, don't be a fool and pick this up ASAP. Never have fifteen dollars gone this far....

This is a great show (and includes a CD in addition to the DVD), but not nearly as good as the Neverender DVD set in which they played 4 albums through a 4-night show.

While Live at the Starland Ballroom isn't a regular album from the great artists in Coheed and Cambria, anyone who enjoys their work can find much to enjoy at these live performances of some of their best songs from their first two albums (The Second Stage Turbine Blade, and In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3). A great addition to any Coheed infused library.
