I've listened to 6 of Leo's CD's. Jennifer Warnes accompanies Leonard in this CD and that, plus the harmony and artistry of the musicians is what makes this the best of the best of the best. The Live in London CD is lame compared to this magnifcient wonder of musical perfection. This recording will go down as his flagship during the next century of praise. If any music deserves to survive the flood of good music that has been created during the last 100 years, well, I better stop right here and just say "Put this CD in the time vault along with 99 others and let the critics decide 300 years from now".

This guy ranks right beside Bob Dylan and Elton John for contemporary music writers and performers that will survive the ages. Get this CD...it's his best! You'll be delighted and I can almost guarantee that you'll play it 20 times and still be engaged when the last song on the CD is finished.

This is a wonderful Leonard Cohen CD. If you don't know the artist, this is a good introduction. If you are familiar with Leonard Cohen, then this is a must-have for your collection. Well done and classic.

There are many Leonard Cohen albums. Most are good.There are two that are great. "Leonard Cohen's Songs" and this work. His voice is corroded but beautiful, his range is limited but all that it should be. No one writes better lyrics. the musical arrangements on this album are superb.

If there is anything better than a Leonard Cohen song, it's a Leonard Cohen song performed Live by the man himself. Great cd.

This album happens to be in the Honorable Mention section of my Deserted Island Music site, where I submit:

"One of the great songwriters. Sometimes, I think, the greatest. Get COHEN LIVE, where you'll hear a backup band and singers giving the best possible support. Maybe I like this album best because one of the shows (on Austin City Limits) that makes up half the album had held me enthralled from just a small TV screen. Maybe because Cohen no longer sounds like an unwrinkled youth but a wise old man. Go to the original studio recordings of decades ago to catch the lyrics, but to this set of live recordings to catch a chill."

Cohen has recently started touring again. The San Antonio Express-News has a good review of his Austin concert in early April 2009. Thankfully, the magic's still there.

Cohen Live is in my opinion Leaonard Cohen's best. It captures the emotion that only comes through in a live performance. I wish I had the $$$$ to go hear him in person this fall in London or Paris and hope he performs a little closer to home next year.

Cohen is as much a showman as he is a musician and recording artist. When he brings his audience into the spirit of his music it makes them happy and him very very good. Anyone who likes the wraparound voice of Cohen will like it even better when it's singing in concert with a loving and attentive audience.

The only thing unsatisfactory about my purchase is how cheap it was. It would be like buying buying the Mona Lisa for pocket change and food stamps.

On a side note, when I used to take "glamour" photography, nothing got the girls in a glamouriffic mood like this CD. As reliable as as a bottle of white wine and a handful of roofies.

This is my first Leonard Cohen CD don't know if I had even heard of him before,,,, if nothing else buy this to hear the passion of "I'M YOUR MAN" briliant!
