I purchased CalorieSmart about a month ago. It's very easy to use and helps me keep track of every bite. Because of it's ease, even when I'm feeling lazy I still find that I use it. The following are my 3 favorite features:1 - The Recipe Calculator that allows you to calculate nutritional info for your homemade recipes then catalogue them per serving size.
2 - The FastFood Finder, which lets you store frequently entered foods so you can find them instantly rather than having to always look them up.
3 - Additions, this lets you list up to 1,000 food items that are not already in the vast 35,000 item database. However, the one drawback I found is that it lists these items when you enter them, NOT alphabetically. Also, in regards to the regular data base foods are note necessarily listed where you think they should be, which can make it cumbersome to look up. However, with those 2 exceptions, I am VERY VERY HAPPY with my purchase

I am kicking myself for paying over $75 for this cheap tool! To the company's credit, delivery was fast and the product does what it says, it counts calories. But that is ALL that it does. There no balance of telling you how much you should be eating to meet your health goals minus how much you've already eaten that week/day. if i had to do over again, I'd go for a different product.

I love it! The instructions are easy to understand and it's easy to use! I love the fact that you can upload data to your computer - the weight tracker chart is easy to create and it's a great visual to keep you motivated. I've only been tracking my calories for 7 days and I've already lost 3 lbs. A wise friend told me, "it's a matter of calories in vs. calories out" and boy is that true!!! The "old fashioned" way of losing weight - just keep track of the calories and this light weight gadget sure makes it easy to do!!!

This product is a great way to manage your caloric intake. However - just a few things to know if your lifestyle is similiar to mine - on the road most of the time. If you are on the move you will be keeping the calorie counter in your bag somewhere - and the button on the face is not covered by a protective face and it constantly is turned on by pressure from various items in the bag and wears out the battery. My resolution has been to keep it in a small bag with a hard cardboard in front of the face to prevent this. Seems to work.

The second thing to know is that for as many foods in the data bank as there are - there are alot missing - there is a function to add items into the system and that will take some time and research...just an fyi.

My third fyi is that you need to know that you cannot manage the system on the desktop...all activity must take place on the physical calorie counter.

Still - to have this portable machine is a great way to become cognizant of your own health.....it really makes you realize what food items have high calories...and which have low ones and are better choices......for it's faults (in my opinion only) it is still well made and a worth while purchase.

I have many health issues and need to watch my food intake. I used to use paper and notepad but this gadget is a life saver. Not only does it track EVERYTHING, at the end of the day or week or month you can generate a report. It certainly is an eye opener when you THINK you are eating healthy and you find you are far short on fiber or too high on sodium or too little on protein. Truly helps you tweak your intake for optimal benefits. Being mindful also helps you to make better choices and a side effect is less weight gain, or even a more consistent loss as you can program it for YOUR goals!!! GREAT telephone support too! Handy, light weight, helpful item.

I really like this calorie counter! You can carry it with you and just plug things in as you eat, so you don't have to try to remember at the end of the day. It has lots of foods, generic and brand name. I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact that it's a little hard to see without my bifocals. But it's doing the job - I would buy it again. I highly recommend it.

when inputting items care must be taken to observe which meal
the item belongs ie breakfast, lunch dinner etc. if you make
a wrong meal it can be corrected later. It would be nice to
see a "sugar" input for diabetics info. the software is
good. cannot correct input when it is loaded into pc.

The calorie smart was easy to use. It has a ton of food listing, more then I expected. It also has a place to log exercise and daily or weekly weight changes. I recommend the calorie smart, it is easier and quicker then using a food journal

I like the features of this device, its ability to store and do reports. That said, I found it tedious to enter the actual data. I stopped using it after a couple of weeks because I just got tired of having to look up so many food items after each meal. I found its ability to store favorites to be a big time saver, but its lookups were pretty weak. There needs to be a "relevance" sort. Anyway, this gave me an accurate way to track daily intake and exercise, but it takes some time. I'm glad I purchased this device, and I hope they keep improving it.

Have been using the product for three months and have already lost 13 pounds. Highly recommend it- makes an excellent gift.
