5.0 out of 5 stars Custom applications, August 21, 2009

There ARE instructions HOW to USE this folder. Forget the "hammer[!]"
remark the previous rater mentioned.
Just do as the instructions state:
"Put an edge into the slot. Push down on the OTHER side.
Coin is Locked in."
I am a cashier, and make my boring days go by faster by looking at the
nickels. I've actually found nickels from 1939, 1941, 1942, 1945, and
1948, to 2006-- haven't seen newer ones, but, I work in a PX overseas.
This coin folder is G-R-E-A-T for bored 61-year-old cashiers-- like me--
and little kids who don't really CARE that there's usually three types
of each years' 5-cent-coins! Anybody NEED 8 1941 nickels that have prob-
ably been IN Germany since WWII?

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Folders, Excellent Quality, May 1, 2010

Like the review from "Big Mac" states, follow the instructions, which by the way, have been the exact same instructions coin collectors have been using for at least 50 years. It truly is so easy a child can do it; simply insert the coin at an angle and then push the other side down.

I remember having these same folders when I was a kid in the late 60's and I'm happy to report they are just as fine a quality now as they were back then. I know this because I still happen to have two of them. Unfortunately they are now made in China when they used to be made in the U.S., but what isn't. So to sums it up, if you need a coin folder, Whitman has always done a real nice one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Get This!! Fail creation!!, December 23, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Coin Folders Nickels: Plain (Official Whitman Coin Folder) (Hardcover)

i got the whole set of whitman coin plain folders after reading the quarters review, but what a disappointment. none of the folders are actually working. i can't push the coins in these supposedly revolutionary locking slots. no matter how hard i hammer (actual hammer!!), shove and push, the coins will not go in for any of the folders. (despite their easy claim that all you have to do is insert one end first and push down on the other end). you can't push the coins in even if you're Hercules. what a waste of money. amazon should refund me -.-
