Book Description

December 1, 2001
Constance Wakening, best-selling romance/horror novelist has gone missing. Her goddaughter Tasha Hewitt is left with only questions to her disappearance. As Tasha unravels the mystery, she uncovers secrets both fascinating, and terrible: That Constance is older than she appears, and that she is well versed in the arcane arts.

Magic.

Tasha discovers, with the assistance of Felix Askew, a drugged out psychic with knowledge that literally spans the world, William Philip Shifflett, a self-styled Red Necromancer, and a mysterious, tetchy gentleman simply known as Smith--that back in World War II Constance loved a boy named Ansgar De Prosselaad, who violated her in mind, body and spirit. It was only so long before the terrible excesses of a boy with an angel's face got his just, and equal rewards.

It seemed, also, that it was a matter of time before Constance's dark secret eventually overwhelmed, and enslaved her.
