5.0 out of 5 stars Take a break September 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This Mercy Watts short packed more suspense, twist, and turns into its 29 pages than a 329 page novel. Really quickly we find that Mercy is a believable kind of protagonist...smart with some dumb moves, attractive without really knowing it, and able to leap tall buildings with a single bound. Wait, that last part is Superman. Spend half an hour with Mercy and you wind up looking for more of Hartoin's shorts. I did~!~.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hooked from the start! July 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read the free page on line and was hooked. Mercy is a winner with her down to earth style and Marilyn Monroe looks. She's great at mulit tasking jobs and men. Can't wait to see what she gets herself into next helping out her PI father. Did not want the story to end. Laughed out loud.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick, entertaining read July 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
A great mystery with great characters. The main character, Mercy Watts, will win your heart from page one. She has no problem filling in for her dad as a spy for one of his cases or for getting in trouble because of her task.

The book is short, but packs a great story into the few pages. I enjoyed the book and the characters. If you are looking for a good mystery with a new "twist," check out this book. Enjoy!!

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting story August 9, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read this story and was engaged in it, but I could tell it was the first in a series, because it kind of left me hanging. Plus, Mercy mentions repeatedly that she looks like Marilyn Monroe, but it really didn't seem to play into the plot line, etc. I don't think I'm going to bother to buy any of the series, it just wasn't as grabbing for me as some of the other free first-in-a-series books I have read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Coke with a Twist August 28, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Please, more! I wish I had the sequence of your stories. I think this one would be the first "Mercy Watts". As with all the rest, it was excellent. The characters are well set up for their future development. The plot was cohesive, and I loved it. Now, new "Away from Whipplethorne"s please. Both series are great! If you can operate in both worlds, please do! Outstanding!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad language! June 16, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I ended up not reading it when I found out that there was a lot of very bad language it in. I don't use bad language and am offended by it so I don't associate with people that use bad language. I didn't realize that it included such language until after I downloaded it. I deleted it from my library and will not be buying any more books from this writer. There are lots of great written mysteries available without bad language.
