In the rural south, most small country United Methodist churches have this wonderful little hymnal. Even if they use the United Methodist Hymnal on Sunday mornings, you'll find that many of them have a special place in their heart for the Cokesbury hymnal, and it sometimes gets used for special events like evening services, Sunday School assemblies or what have you. It's got a lot of old-time songs that don't need to be forgotten.

We use this hymnal in Sunday School general assembly. There are many old songs like Rock of Ages and Just as I am. I ordered this book as a memorial for a deceased SS class member.

You will find larger hymnals with fancier hymns, but for hymns that sound good and make you feel good the Cokesbury is hard to beat. It's the gold standard, especially for small choirs/quartets/trios, etc. In my opinion, no church musician or choir director should be without one.

Great "old-time" Methodist hymnal. I ordered 10 of these for my church. Shipping was free but not very fast.

For several years I've looked for this hymn book from my childhood. And I finally located one on Amazon.com. It brings back many fond memories. Thank you.
