Product Description

Size: 77mm

PURE Harmonie Variable Neutral Density X filters are the lightest and thinnest in the world measuring in at only 9.5mm. They have been engineered with no compromise; very robust, compatible with all lens caps, and multi-coated with EVERCLEAR 5 Coating Technology to withstand almost any conditions. The PURE Harmonie ND X filter is the result of extensive engineering. Its form factor has been designed so that the external diameter of the filter is wider than the front of the lens to avoid vignetting issues that may occur with extreme wide angle lenses. Neutral density filters are used to reduce the quantity of light that reaches the sensor of the camera. They allow the photographer to decrease their shutter speed in order to achieve motion blur (waterfalls, ocean, clouds....) and/or reduce depth of field in very bright conditions. As they are "neutral", ND filters do not affect color renditions. With PURE Harmonie Variable Density Neutral Gray filters, users can select the light reducing intensity from ND2 (1 f-stop) to ND400 (8+ f-stops) by rotating the front ring. While some variable ND filters can become yellowish when increasing the density, PURE Harmonie ND X filters remain perfectly neutral. They are PURE.

Good filter but it has some quarks. On the plus side i havent noticed any color shift in my photos, and the price is one of the cheapest. Surprisng for the French brand, which is usually a primum price. The negative side is that no matter what i do i cant get the markings to show up on my 16-35, 24-70 or 70-200. Everytime i attach it the reference marker ends up on the bottom where i cant see it. In addition, the front piece is wider then the back piece which makes it impossible to use a lens hood. Unless you attach the lens hood first, but then its hard to rotate the filter especially on the 70-200. It does produce some noticable vingette on the 16-35 but only on the wide end. Which is easily corrected and so far hasnt been a real problem. I was hoping that its narrow design would elevate the need to remove a uv filter but that hasnt worked out either, if i dont remove the uv filter I get vignetting no matter which lens i use. I dont mean to gripe, but i guess m picky. All in all its a great filter and I would recommend it to anyone, but like everything else in the world its not perfect.

cokin is a well known brand of filter especially the P series filter i used in the past and it works great so i give this a try. First the price is high so you would assume this will be a good one, i tested this as soon as it arrive and test and the result is very disappointing the X pattern is very visible around 5 - 8 stops. It is fine from 1 to 4 stops without vignetting. I return the item the next day, maybe i got a bad copy, but i wouldn't dare to give it a try for another copy.

Superb quality filter, no ghosts at all, little flares but it won't bother for any work, really slim for a "2 pieces" filter like cir-pl filter or color graduated filter, have to be carefull shifting stops becouse it's so small that you may touch the filter front element . Best "stock" protection case i've ever seen on a small circular filter so there's no need to buy good protection, about it's weight is 2/3 of any same kind(Nd variable) filter at the same diameter, seems it will be for a couple years on my pocket..
