5.0 out of 5 stars Is this also called Mercedes Coffee
I have just been looking to follow up on this book with her next, only to find that there is another book out called Mercedes Coffin, which is the same read. I find this so confusing, when just looking at titles. Whats going on !!!!. Having said that I really enjoyed this book

I used to be an ardent fan of Faye Kellerman's "Rina Lazarus and Peter Decker mysteries". But the last two books I read, one of which is Cold Case", disappointed me. Cold Case" mainly consists of lengthy discussions about who killed whom together with whom and for what reasons. The suspects were so much alike that I didn't really care who would turn out to be the culprit.

What I don't like at all is that at the end of the book, some of the mysteries aren't conclusively solved and remain a matter for conjecture.

I admit that I am a naive reader, that is to say I almost feel about Decker and his family as if they were real people. I mean, I would like to know more about what is going on in their lives. But especially the two boys or rather young men have faded from the books.

But I like Decker so much that I will not give up on the series yet but give the more recent books another try.

2.0 out of 5 stars Full of typos, January 3, 2011

I'm a longtime fan of the Decker/Lazarus series by Kellerman, although I thought The Burning House was totally unbelievable - the coincidence at its heart was ridiculous.

Cold Case isn't bad, but it's the first of Kellerman's books I've bought in a Kindle edition, and the first Kindle book I've bought that is full of typos. The errors make it very difficult to read. Do the publishers not employ a proofreader for ebooks? They should. Typos are just as distracting on a screen as on a page.
