excellent
my second book by m.b. and i will defiitely be reading her others. this was a suspense and a little romance into the mix that kept you turning the pages. a fast read that just grabs your attention from the first page.

Trite and predictable
I got this as an easy holiday read, but had expected better than this from the glowing reviews. The characters are predictable and uninteresting, the solution to the "murder mystery" is obvious and the writing full of clichés. I shall not read any more books by this author.

Sassy reporter Tara Mackey decides to ask questions. Lead detective Alex Kirkland respects her intuition enough to reopen the case. You have to meet Mackey's aunt. She's a smart lady. Did Mr. Freedman have the gems? Why are the people being questioned ending up dead? An excellent story with intrigue and suspense - danger and mystery! HIGHLY RECOMENDED - M -- what a tale for a cosy night's read!

I downloaded six e books upon purchasing my Amazon Kindle. This was the 1st one I read. I have several paperbacks by Mary Burton. She never disappoints me. A wonderful read. One must appreciate the author's style. Each person will have their own style they love to read. With this you get suspense and romance. What every woman likes.

Ms. burton I simply love the way you writ and tell a story. you kept me waiting impatiently to get back to the book. I am a huge fan og mystery books and especially the ones withe suprising twists as a good mystery book should have. the main carachters are interesting and likeable. Thank you again for enjoyablr reading. I'm going to look out for others books you have written.
