As part of the Long Play project (samphillips dot com), Sam released 6 Christmas tunes. The title track of the EP, "Cold Dark Night" is one of two originals (the other being "It doesn't feel like Christmas"). The four classics include "It Came upon a Midnight Clear", "O Holy Night", "Away in a Manger" and "Silent Night". A preview for the EP (clips of the songs) as well as a full version of "It doesn't feel like Christmas" are on her samphillipsmusic YouTube channel. The darker instrumentation may not suit everyone. But it's my favorite Christmas album.
