Book Description

June 1, 2009
When Jake's girlfriend Anna, an Interpol officer, has the two of them vacationing in Oslo, Norway, he has no idea he will get called back into the Network by his old Air Force commander and former CIA officer. Jake is asked to travel to Spitsbergen Island in Norway's Arctic Svalbard Archipelago, to retrieve the remains of a former officer killed there almost 20 years ago. Together Jake and Anna team up with a Norwegian Intelligence officer, who is both beautiful and deadly. What they find in the frozen permafrost leads them through Sweden and back to Norway's boreal forests, where they must confront a Cold War nemesis from the KGB who is up to old tricks.

Editorial Reviews

Review

“A riveting thriller all the way through, The Cold Edge is a top pick for community library thriller collections.”—Midwest Book Review

“Trevor Scott brings back Jake Adams for his most thrilling adventure yet.  Trevor delivered an excellent international thriller, by using his strong writing style and attention to detail, having done extensive research in Norway and Sweden.  From the first page to the last page, you will be sent on a ride that should propel Trevor into conversation as one of the top military thriller writers right now.  It is refreshing to see an author, which has such depth of military knowledge, not be as technical as some other authors in this genre.  We recommend all of our readers to get this book now.  Watch out Jason Bourne, you had met your match with Jake Adams!”—Suspense Magazine

5.0 out of 5 stars Has to be a Movie soon..., March 15, 2008
By
Jacob Conrad (Pacific Northwest) - See all my reviews
I've read every book in this series and this is the best one yet. The author takes the reader to, of all places, the Arctic region off Norway's coast, and back through Sweden and Norway. This is the most exciting international thriller I've read in years. A real page turner. I would rate this book with the best by Jack Higgins or the late Robert Ludlum. I'm really surprised this author has not jumped to one of the major New York publishing houses. An author to watch and read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A riveting thriller all the way through, August 10, 2008
Travel through the frozen wastes of the world to retrieve the remains of a murdered agent - not an easy task to begin with. "The Cold Edge" follows Jake and Anna, two Interpol officers as they try to accomplish this mission through the harsh and brutal environment. That wasn't enough, as Cold War tensions still remain in the world as and old nemeses take the opportunity to come after them. A riveting thriller all the way through, "The Cold Edge" is a top pick for community library thriller collections.

5.0 out of 5 stars HOOKED!, August 6, 2011
Hooked is what you will be when you start reading the Jake Adams series. Hooked for life is what you will be after reading this one (The Cold Edge), by far the best yet. Hooked so bad I now check the store daily just waiting to buy the next book! I read the whole series in order (back to back!) and its awesome how Trevors' writing ability continues to grow by leaps and bounds. I have no doubt Trevor Smith will easily follow the same path of indie top guy John Locke. So while waiting for the next Jake book, I will be reading his other works with the anticipation they will also be just as great.
