This noir-style piece is a page turner through and through. Though a lot shorter than I had expected, that doesn't detract one bit from its value. As an added bonus, it also includes an amazing preview of C.R. Myers next work, "Shadows of Illusion".

This story is my first introduction to C.R. Myers, but definitely will not be my last. Highly recommend this.

Grabbed me from the first word to the last. Plenty of twist and perverted turns. Great read. Very quick read. Would recommend it to friends.

I write mystery and suspense--cozy to edgy. I enjoy having a well-developed plot with lots of surprises. Reviewers often point out that I reach inside the mind of the killer, ferreting out their most basic needs and emotions. Of course, it's the reader's mind which really holds my interest.

I write children's books. As a child I was an incessant reader. As a teacher and mother, I witnessed the joy children experience reading stories for themselves, especially those incorporating rhythm and rhyme. In the process of creating a new book, I envision the pleasure the child will receive when hearing or reading the story.

C. R. Myers, a native Texan, received her MA from the University of Texas at Tyler. As a teacher and professional speaker, she designed and implemented her own creative writing course as well as writing college sketches. Today, Ms Myers works full-time as a free-lance journalist and novelist.
