5.0 out of 5 stars Fallen Like Dominos, August 7, 2000
By
Delores (Sicklerville, NJ) - See all my reviews
I have this domino affect with Gary Hardwick's books: I've fallen for them all! Cold Medina was intense, abrasive, and cold with death that comes with a life of drugs. This was the next book to read of Gary's because I just wanted to be sure that I would enjoy it like all the rest: "Supreme Justice" (SUPERB!), "Double Dead" (Double fast paced trouble).

The author has a thing for Detroit, but more so the law, crime, sex and the political ring. This was another fast page-turner that putting it down only made you pick it back up again. February 2001 is a long time to wait for the next book (The Color of Justice), but I'll be waiting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Twists, November 7, 2002
I just learned about Gary Hardwick about a month ago and I'm sure glad I stumbled across him. Cold Medina was a book full of plot twists and turns and interesting characters. Tony Hill head of an elite police unit struggles with his own demons while trying to pin down a serial killer. The trail of bodies leads Tony straight to the top of a huge cover-up. The book was different in the fact that it was not predictable or cookie cutter. I loved it and look forward to reading more books from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Thriller, November 8, 2001
I can hardly wait for the next installation of Tony Hill. This book was so good. I read it in two sittings, it kept me from sleeping. After reading this book I knew I would read anything by Mr. Hardwick.

5.0 out of 5 stars cold medina, March 1, 2006
It has been at least 8 years since I read this book, but the powerful use of words by mr hardwick had such a hold on me that I have never been able to forget it. I read on average, a book a day, so I vowed to remeber the title so that i would be able to find another book by him. I am glad to see he has now got 2 more.

This book takes on the street/drug life in a way that I have never seen before. His characters are well fleshed out and he created them so well you feel you are in there with them, understanding why they act they way they do, rooting for them even as you despise their actions.

Way to go Mr Harwick, way to go!

5.0 out of 5 stars COLD MEDINA is right--this book is straight up cool!, July 22, 2000
COLD MEDINA was the first book by Gary Hardwick that I was introduced to and I'm grateful for it! The story of the drug cold medina and the side effects, the killer known as Handyman, and Inspector Tony Hill thrown together made each and every page a true experience. This was one of the best suspense novels I have ever read. Gary, can ya write another Hill story? Pretty Please?

This review is from: Cold Medina: 9A Novel of Suspense (Hardcover)
This was the best book I've read in a long time. I went out before I finished this book and bought "Color of Justice". I hope that one is as good as "Cold Medina".

4.0 out of 5 stars Very well done. Gary Hardwick is now on the scene!, February 8, 1998
By A Customer
Believe this is the first, recent Black crime novel I've read. Enjoyed it very much. Especially liked Tony Hill. Characters realistic and believable. Look forward now to reading similar books. But first I must go find "Double Dead."
