Cold Nose Kisses Amazing Puppies - Yorkshire Terrier

I think that this is a great idea and a very cute plush, but I immediately encountered some problems with the toy that I think are worth mentioning. First, the battery box is very poorly designed. Once you have opened the velcro cavity in the dog's tummy, it's nearly impossible to keep it closed again. The dog's hairs get caught in the velcro and the battery box is too big so the cavity keeps busting open. Now, if I handle the toy, the box keeps falling out!

My second comment is that the sound effects are pretty bad. The sounds quality is poor and it doesn't always sound like a dog.

We ordered this dog in lieu of a real puppy. My daughter at 17 months old loved this toy and after months still loves this toy. We don't even turn it on and she walks around petting it and kissing it.

The packaging is truly a pain, there must have been 20 ties and straps on this. There was no hope of returning it with a resellable box, I literally destroyed it to get the toy.

I have allergies and the dog shed initially, that would be why I wanted to return it. I read so many complaints on how the belly doesn't close back up after being opened, it really wasn't so tough to accomplish.

The look is adorable,it's legs do not do anything, they are like a stuffed animals legs. The nose gets very cold, sneezes if you touch it too soon, kiss sounds like how you call a cat when it is touched while cold. The tail wags and he makes noises when he wants to be pet or is being pet. You can leave him on all the time and is activated by squeezing the paw with the logo.

Since our daughter got this dog she has not bothered our cat too much, who, by the way, doesn't take cuddling well at all.

I suggest brushing it good before playing with it. This toy is good in my book. He doesn't eat much either.

Although the cold nose puppies are cute and cuddly, and my children love playing with them, I am still very disappointed and would not buy this toy again because as mentioned in other reviews, the battery packs WILL NOT stay inside the toy. The velcro will not stay fastened. I am tempted to sew this toy together, but that would create another problem when it's time to replace the batteries. I cannot believe that a manufacturer would design such a poor battery compartment. For the amount of money the toy cost, I expected it to be designed much better.

I bought a cold nose puppy for my little sister and she really likes that she does not want to share with it.

This little puppy was our solution to our 2yr old's request for a puppy for Christmas. It is such a sweet little thing that I even find myself playing with it. She's a little younger than they recommend, but has no problems getting him to do all his tricks. "Abbie" sleeps at the end of her bed every night. We've had no problem getting the battery pack to stay in - just have to keep the fur out of the velcro. Our family was so impressed by how real it looks and sounds, yet it's not annoying thanks to the fact it turns off after you leave it alone for a bit. I love that it doesn't have stiff robot legs so it is still cuddly and not too heavy. I really can't think of a better alternative to the real thing.

Santa brought the Yorkie to my 6-year-old daughter for Christmas. While it was as cute as could be, it didn't work well. It would rarely kiss, and, as other reviewers have noted, the velcro on the belly wouldn't close. "Santa" returned it to Toys R Us and got a new Yorkie. This one appears to have some modifications, compared to the first one, to facilitate the velcro staying closed. The "new" puppy is a kissing fool!! She works just beautifully and is so much fun. My husband and I enjoy it as much as my daughter does. This is a cute, fun, enjoyable toy for children of all ages. If you get one that doesn't work to your satisfaction, keep trying for another one. It's too much fun to miss!

I love this! I gave it to my cousin-and boy she was thrilled! We sat all day playing with the puppy and the nose was absolutely cccooollldd! It froze my cheek and we laughed, but you must know, the batteries are changed really often for this pup. It's worth (...)

My husband actually got this for me for Christmas. I love yorkies and had seen it in the store and fell inlove. Its so cute and realistic with the cold nose! The only complaint I had like another post was that I can't keep the velcro shut to keep the battery box in. I had to resort to safety pinning it. Other than that I think kids or adults will love it!

I felt compelled to write because one reason I bought this was that I'd read several good reviews. We have this Yorkshire Terrier version of this toy, and I regret the purchase very much. The reviewer who mentioned the battery box issue nailed it - it's pretty much impossible to keep the velcro closed because the dog's hair is all stuck in the hooks, and the battery box is too large and heavy and doesn't want to stay in the too-small compartment. It's pretty cute, but you don't see its eyes AT ALL - they show in the photo, but I don't know what you'd have to do to it to make it look like that. I will say my daughter doesn't want to get rid of it (not that she plays with it all that much) but I always want to because every time I try to stick the battery pack inside I'm pretty sure my blood pressure goes up.

Maybe a different version of the toy without long hair would be okay.

My daughter got this puppy for Christmas and loved it. We all did. I can honestly say the first day she had it we all had fun with it. A few days later my daughter noticed it's not wagging it's tail anymore. I don't see any other posts about this issue so maybe we got a lemon. She does really like so I think I will try another one though now I see the Yorkie is unavailable :(
