5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book-Where is the Sequel?
I am a tremendous fan of Christopher Pike. However, I must say that it is unfair to begin a story, get the reader very interested and then not finish the story. It has been 10 years since this was published. Where is the sequel that was promised at the end of this book? I love a good story and I would love to know how this story ends...it would be dissapointing if it...

3.0 out of 5 stars Creepy & Choppy & Juvenile, Yet Strangely Enjoyable
This type of horror is not usually my cup of tea, but something about this book made reading it like eating potato chips--you can't stop after just one page. I'm embarrassed to admit that I really enjoyed it, but I gotta be truthful.

I must admit that this book is still well worth reading even without the resolution that the sequel would provide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pike Does it Again!, January 2, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Cold One (Mass Market Paperback)
Christopher Pike is one of the few authors that I buy automatically when I see his books in the stores. And this one did not disappoint me at all. "The Cold One" is a wonderfully-written book that captivates the reader by the middle of page 1. The way that Mr. Pike weaves a story around his many characters and storylines is nothing short of superb. "The Cold One" ventures into the land of horror, mixed with science-fiction and suspense. I am extremely pleased that Mr. Pike decided to commence writing for adults as well as for young adults, for his young adult books are treasured in my bookcase as "favourites". If you have not yet purchased "The Cold One", then please do so immediately, for this is a life-changing novel, a novel of intense emotion and suspense. This is right up there among the best of Stephen King and Dean Koontz.

This review is from: The Cold One (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is amazing. I have read it and reread it many times. All the twists and turns, the plot line is spectacular. I have never read such a great book before. Absolutely my favorite, even compared to all the Harry Potter books. I have been searching and searching for the longest time for the sequel, The Cold One II: The Seedling. Does any one know about this? Where can i find it... i am so desperate! I really really want to know what else happens.. i hate being left out, when you know there is more. If anyone can help... please email me!

5.0 out of 5 stars THE book to own!, July 18, 2000
This review is from: The Cold One (Mass Market Paperback)
I own over 40 of Pike's books, not including the Spooksville series, and I have to say that this is one of my absolute favorites! Mr.Pike took mystery, some violence, conflict, developed characters, and an excellent plot, and ended up with The Cold One. I've never read anything like it before in my entire life, and I have read a lot of books. It keeps you guessing about how it's going to end throughout. The Cold One has a great beginning, middle, and end. This is an excellent book, and I recommend it to anyone over the age of around 13, because there is some gore. The ending leaves you satisfied about the mystery of The Cold One, but desperate to find out what happens is The Cold One 2: Seedling. Definetely a book to own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely great!!!, April 24, 2005
This review is from: The Cold One (Mass Market Paperback)
This is one of Christopher Pike's best books ever and an awesome horror story. The Cold One is an evil entity, a great and ancient evil which returns to the present times in order to seek world domination. Enter Peter Jacobs, who is a columnist from the Los Angeles Times, who starts to investigate a series of macabre murders. Enter Julie Moore who studies and follows near-death experiences. Enter Govinda Sharma, a Hindu, who is driven from his homeland towards West, following Rak, a 5000-year old humanoid, who is also heading West. All of these characters are destined to meet and face the evil of the Cold One and try to stop it. Haunting and evil, full of twists and great characters, this book is a true horror novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars AWWWWWWWWW YEAH, April 12, 2001
By
This review is from: The Cold One (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was simply awesome. I couldn't put it down, it went every where with me, the bathtub, the loo, the dinner table, my job and I even attempted to read it while I was driving. Christopher Pike is a master at developing genuine characters. If you can make your reader relate to and or "breathe" with the character, you can sell millions. Certainly, it's not an ability easily obtained. Some of the metaphysical hooie made me yawn [the part of the book that took place in India] which is the only reason I dont give this book a five star rating. But hell, at least I learned a thing or two. I thoroughly enjoyed Sati and I am on my way to reading Seasons of passage. By the way, I highly recommend The Midnight Club and the Chain letter series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christopher Pike: The Best, January 4, 2000
This review is from: The Cold One (Mass Market Paperback)
This was the very first adult horror novel I've read written by Christopher Pike. And like his other books, I am blown away with every word. All the imagination and twists through out. He never fails to do less the best. The story plots of a serial murderer twisted with history and truth, but what seems unreal. I loved every second of it and I'd always spare time to read it over and over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Book of Intrigue & Eastern Thought, Great Story, May 6, 2003
By
Jess (Charlotte, NC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Cold One (Hardcover)
I love the plot and the characters, and I have read this book many times. However, in the back of the book I have, which was one of the first editions printed, it says that Pike's next book will be Blind Mirror, and this was back in 1995, so no wonder no one has seen the sequel to The Cold One, which was to be called The Cold One II: Seedling. It seems as if Mr. Pike has been writing Blind Mirror for some time, and he may never publish The Cold One II: Seedling, which would be very sad. However, this is an awesome book, and worth reading 100%!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars What Happened to Christopher Pike????, January 8, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: The Cold One (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this book back when it first came out. I have read all of his books even though I am 22. I recently reread it and discovered it was suppose to be a series. Where did Christopher Pike go? What happened to the rest of the series? Why did he stop writing? If anyone knows please fill me in. The book is very good though. But if you dont want to get stuck wanting the rest of the books then dont read.
