5.0 out of 5 stars cold packs
I like this particular brand of cold pack better than the blue cold pack because the material used doesn't squish away when you lean on it. It is colder than the elastogel cold pack for people who like it colder. Eventually it will split at the seams, but the price makes it worth buying. 1.0 out of 5 stars Rigid Cold Pack
Recently purchased this to add to the selection we had on hand for a family member who was having knee replacement surgery.

We have 4 different brands/styles. This is the least favorite. It is not shape-able/ mold-able. In fact, it is difficult/impossible to move the inner gel to fit where you want to place the cold pack.

It does not stay cold for...

5.0 out of 5 stars Love These ColPacs, January 17, 2009
By
I love these cold packs! Having worked in physical therapy for years, this is the product we used. They last a long time. We used them day in and day out for years. I own several different sizes of this product. One for my back, one for my knee, and the neck ones work well for necks, wrists and ankles. Keep them in your freezer so they will be ready when the unexpected injury occurs.

I've had one of these cold packs for over 20 years and used it for all kinds of injuries. It finally wore out so we will try a new one for the next 20 years.

It does not stay cold for very long (10-15 minutes max).

It requires a cotton cover, if you prefer something between your skin and the cold pack (we used a thin cotton tea towel).

Because of the inability to shape it, we used it "flat" (very lumpy and impossible to change this). This limited the use and effectiveness.

The two brands we liked were Ace (a blue flat cold pack with no cover and does not require one) and Mueller (a small cold pack that provides a hook/loop closure to wrap it around a body part), purchased locally at chain stores, though Amazon may carry them. We reach for them every time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Same Ice Pack as at the Rehab!, November 11, 2010

This is the ice pack they used on me at the rehab center and this is what I wanted. It's a well made item, and wraps easily around my knee and leg. I can squish the gel so that i can keep the cold exactly where I want it. You do have to slip a towel or sheet around it before you put it on ... to be expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for knees, November 1, 2010
This review is from: Cold Pack - ColPaC Brand - Black Polyurethane - Oversize - 12.5" x 18.5" (Health and Beauty)
I'm a former baseball catcher who still has knee problems from my High School days. These packs are great for getting rid of inflamation. They also freeze quick so you can use them multiple times a day.

This is truly the smartest thing I have ever purchased and best item I have gotten from Amazon. I got it right after my rotator cuff surgery after visitng my PT, they use them exclusively and told me where to find one. Works great.

This cold pack is awesome. This thing holds its temperature extremely well and feels almost as cold after having it on for 20 minutes as it does when I first take it out of the freezer. Overall, it's an excellent item.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Ice Pack Ever Used, January 2, 2011

These are the best ice packs in my opinion ever made. They stay cold for a long time. I like how they are heavy because it is less likely to slip off. It's big enough to use on my legs or arms. When I had physical therapy for a month after a car accident I realized that they use this brand too. I would settle for nothing less. These packs are also constructed solidly, they will last forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product, August 18, 2010

These cold pacs are heavy duty and the weight is great especially if you've sprained an ankle. The weight plus the ice makes a huge difference in terms of reducing swelling, increasing comfort in the process. They stay cold for a long time too. It's important to store them flat in the freezer - they keep much better that way. You won't be disappointed.
