I use a machete very often, as I'm in the woods a lot and need to chop around more than most folks. I've done this for over 20 years. I do have other cutting tools, such as a cane machete, latin machete, brush ax, and 3/4 ax and use them all for different jobs.
I have several other Cold Steel brand knives (but not this inexpensive) and I like them a lot.
I bought this one online, and it's much too thin for serious use. Even the low priced Brazil model is about twice this thick.
I'm returning it.
The major advantage of a bolo is a weighted blade forward, but this one has no weight forward, hence the results noted by another is not surprising.
So - if a tool is not what you need, why would you spend the time and money for something that won't do the job?
