I bought several of these knives based on the Field and Stream Gear Review. I handed them out as christmas presents for my hunting buddies. I was pretty impressed with the knives overall. They came razor sharp and look to be pretty well built (and very light! excellent for a backpack). The finishing details on the knives may not be as fine as some more expensive knives (there is a very small ridge of material where the handle was molded together, doesn't effect the grip or feel of the knive, just details) But that brings up the price! I think this knife is a steal for the price! I don't believe you can beat it. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality knife at a more than reasonable price.

Got this because I was looking for a good plain fixed blade about the same size as some of my bigger folders, and I figured I'd try this before investing in the more expensive Cold Steel Hunters. I'm sold. This is razor (really) sharp, very light, nice useful size. Doesn't feel cheap at all. I've been testing it out in the kitchen first: it's a little thick for veges (it is about the size of a good paring knife but cuts much better), but it trims and shaves meat and poultry like butter. Looking forward to getting the other Pendletons, but this one is a steal at this price. I'll be putting this knife to a lot of use.

i just got the pendleton lite hunter about 2 days ago and i love this knife. it is a good deal . dont let the cheap price fool u into thinking it is a cheap crap knife (it is NOT a cheap crap knife) its a good steel for the price i think. i always have the knife on me anywhere i go . strong razor sharp and lite. out of all the knifes i own this is by far the best of them . i have about 12 knifes . so do not pass this knife up . if your are thinking of getting it . just dont think about it. JUST DO IT! if you do decide to pick it up , i hope u have fun and a good time with it even if you use it for just cutting paper to gutting deer . u will enjoy this knife.

This knife came razor sharp and is a great price for the quality you get! It has a good belly on it for skinning and the handle is long enough so that you won't cut yourself. The handle feels real light and feels like it is made of a cheap plastic but at the same time it is feels good in your hand and is a great knife for the price! buy a few of them so you can give one to all your hunting buddies

I read the review in Field and Stream and figured that the price was right so why not try it out. Although I have yet to dress game with it I have used it for several chores around the house including trimming some brush and this thing is very sharp and easy to hold on to. The handle feels like cheap plastic but hasn't slipped yet. I got an extra one to keep in the glove compartment of my truck. I'm sure the more expensive ones are better somehow but at this price you can afford to get two in case you lose one or give one away (to somebody who will know how to safely use a knife this sharp).

BTW I'm not a fan of over-priced gear especially when I can get something for less that will last as long and can do the job just fine. I think this is in that second category.

This is a great knife for the money. We skinned 2 deer this season without sharpning. The edge held up great. I highly recomend this knife.

The Pendleton Lite was a top rated choice by Field and Stream in 2010. This is a great knife for a great price and will serve the hunter well. The grip is ergonomic and the blade is sturdy and very sharp. It can easily be resharpened and comes with a 5 year replacement warranty against defect or breakage if used properly. Amazon offers this knife from several retailers for a great price. It retails for around $22.00.

At $15 I honestly wasn't expecting much. However, I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised. The knife arrived very sharp and is well constructed. I can't wait to use this knife to field dress many deer in the future. My only little complaint is the sheath. The knife is held in only by friction. I would have liked a snap or something. But for so little money you can't go wrong with this knife.

I read Petzel's review of this knife in Field & Stream and decided to order one for me and 3 for friends. WOW! Knife is unbelievably sharp and after skinning 2 deer it still had a decent edge. It only took 3-4 minutes of sharpening to make it shave again. I have ordered 2 more for myself just in case they quit making them. A true bargain!

This is a nice cheap knife. You can hardly feel it in your hand. Nice to throw in the glove/tackle box, Or in your pocket. Unlike slot of smaller knives it has a big handle and a short blade. It is good good for close work like stripping wire sheathing or peeling an apple.
