Product Description

Our Perfect Balance Thrower takes inspiration from a 1950's classic. Its center of balance is at the midpoint of its overall length. It hits hard and penetrates its target efficiently because of its considerable weight and fully sharpened clip point. The strong 1055 carbon steel construction, black rust resistant finish, and replaceable composite handle scales, make it durable enough for thousands of throws. Plus, it has an additional benefit in that it can also hold its own as a heavy duty survival knife, cleaver or hatchet. Get yours today!

This is my second Perfect Balance thrower.
I am satisfied with it's balance and steel.
I am not satisfied with the weakness of the
barrel screws that secure the scales.
I have learned to do a very tight tension-lashing
around the scales, in order to protect the scales
and screws from shock.
Otherwise, a great throwing knife.

Buy this knife. From six, twelve, or eighteen paces you can sink this an inch deep in plywood. Its heavy, sharp, and well made.

Ignore the other reviewers that have complained about the handle and the finish. After several hundred throws anything will show wear. Sharpen, repaint, epoxy the handle- whatever, but the 1055 blade will still be begging for action. I really wish I'd had this knifecas a kid when all I could dream about was well made weapons. Cold steel makes economical well crafted items for work and play.

It's a good throwing knife. The weight surprised me a little in feeling it was a wee bit heavy for throwing but, as a beginner I don't know how heavy it should be. I think it's a good product to purchase for a newbie or a pro, on my first throw I stuck it. I wager that someone who actually knows what they're doing would far surpass my talents (My next 10/20 throws were not so lucky). The only thing I dislike is that the color fades and is dinged up easily. I assume that's to be expected from throwing an object repeatedly. Have a sharpener in hand, a target board and throw the hours away. All in all, I'd buy it again. Highly enjoyable

Great knifes, large and hefty with excellent balance as the name suggests. and for the price you cant beat it hands down. They hold point on harder wood targets very well. i put one to a break test and it took me almost standing on it to break the tip. then i repaired the point and took the handle off and the balance was perfect again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This was my first thrower. I love it and can stick an apple at 6 paces. But the cheap handle is cheap and will fall off before you learn how to throw. If you already are an experienced knife sticker then yours might last.

Great size. Nice and weighty. Great balance, as indicated by name. I took it to the forest and started throwing at a stomach-high stump. I have only thrown light knives before this one, so it took some adjusting. But in about ten minutes I was sinking spin throws from the handle and sinking the blade two inches into the stump from 11 feet. With a no-spin technique, I had to start much closer, as Thorn suggests. So I started at three feet and worked on that. Next time I go back to the woods, I'll try to increase my no-spin distance. Using handle throw, I also stuck a few from about twenty feet, but with much less consistency due to my lack of practice and beginner status. It is a pleasure to throw and stick.

I also tested its cutting power by chopping through some sticks and whittling a spear-point. It slammed easily through branches with clean cuts and whittled a spear point pretty easily and quickly from hard wood.

I didn't really mess with blade throwing. Maybe I'll try some next time. Great buy and great price. Good fun and exercise.

I like this knife, but I might prefer the cold steel pro flight and pro balance more. I like the option of throwing by the handle or blade, which you can do with this knife, but you have to be careful. You could also un-sharpen the blade, but I don't have the means to do that correctly, and if your going to un-sharpen it, why not just get another thrower that comes dull on the edges? I will say I like to have a hybrid sharp-knife/thrower like this in my collection of other throwers and knives. But if you're getting your first thrower I would recommend another one without an edge. I haven't found anything that stands out about this blade as far as its blade geometry or anything like that goes, and If you're new to knife throwing, you already have bounce-backs and ricochets to worry about, you don't need to worry about cutting your hand open too.

I did not buy this for throwing. I lost my EOTW knife on a recent trip. I've been looking for something cheap, but dang near indestructible. After many hours of searching I came across this beast. I also wanted something cheap so I COULD use it, mentally, for a beater knife. This thing is big, and badass. Good edge that should hold up to cutting wood/branches and still be useful for food prep. Easy to baton, works well as a hatchet alternative. I made a handle for it as the handle that it ships with is not good for much. The list thing I will be doing is building a leather sheath.

Buy it. Buy it NOW.
