Product Description

Product Description

They feature Japanese made AUS 8A stainless steel blades with a bead blast finish, razor sharp edges and sturdy, needle sharp points. The CNC milled handles are forged from super tough 7075 Aluminum billets and are given an attractive bead blast surface and finished with a protective EDP (Electric Discharge Plating) coating. And for maximum strength and safety, we have equipped our Ti-Lites with our patent pending, stainless steel leaf spring locks (proven, in our tests, to hold 130 lbs). For ease of carry, the Ti-Lites come equipped with a small, but unobtrusive steel pocket clip, and can be opened rapidly by using the thumb studs or by snagging a quillon on the edge of your pocket as you draw your knife out.

The Cold Steel Ti-Lite tactical folding knife evokes the sleep speed and rebellious lines of the classic 1950s-style switchblade. Unlike most switchblades, however, the Ti-Lite is legal to carry nearly everywhere. The knife is equipped with a Japanese-made AUS 8A stainless-steel blade with a bead-blast finish, razor-sharp edge, and sturdy needle-sharp point. This particular version of the knife features a Zytel handle, an affordable alternative to the Ti-Lites' traditional aluminum handle. The 43-percent glass-filled Zytel handle mimics the look of its aluminum siblings almost exactly, but is significantly less expensive. Cold Steel also added a stainless-steel leaf-spring lock and liner tested to hold up to 130 pounds, so you can rest assured that the knife won't open accidentally. The resulting knife is remarkably strong, sharp, and good looking.

The Ti-Lite is easy to carry thanks to the small steel pocket clip. To open, simply use the thumb studs or snag a quillon on the edge of your pocket as you draw your knife out.

I wasn't a big fan of this knife when I first saw it, a little over a year ago. I tend to like more "traditional" looking stilettos. However, I caved and decided to get one. The price was right. It took a little warming up to at first, but man do I love this knife! It's insanely sharp and opens as fast as a spring-assisted or automatic. I love the fact that it snaps open with a loud "THWACK!" And it can easily be closed with one-hand as well; the locking mechanism's release is appropriately placed to allow for this. The only thing I didn't like was the pocket clip, I found it a little robust when carrying the knife in my back pocket. I removed it with a size 4 Torx screwdriver. Problem solved! I definatly recommend this knife. It's superb and if you'll notice the zytel model (the cheaper model) is an ounce or two lighter than the titanium one. Go for the zytel.

The Cold Steel Ti-Lite with the Zytel grips seems to be a very well made knife. The Ti-Lite comes with a razor sharp edge and the point is needle-sharp. The fit and finish overall is very well done, the only way you'll find a better quality build would be to spend much more on a blade from a custom knife maker.

The knife snaps open with an authority that turns heads every time. With a little practice, the knife can be drawn and opened at the same time by catching the ridged blade base on the corner of your pocket while swiftly drawing the knife straight up out of the pocket.

The knife features a liner lock, which I am not fond of, but this one seems to lock plenty strong. The knife is meant for right handed carry and use, with no options to switch the pocket clip for left-handed carry, nor is there a provision to move the thumb-stud to the other side. Because of it's lack of ambidextrous features or provisions to convert to left-hand use, I give the knife a 4-star rating instead of 5.

1st of all: im a woman and ive never really carried a knife before. my brother would give me knives for protection but i just never took to them....until this one.
- its very lightweight which is crucial for me.
- small footprint in pocket-no one will ever suspect ive got it.
- another thing thats crucial for me is the time it takes for me to get the knife out of my pocket and open it-im no good at that. but with this knife, theres a piece of the knife that sticks out to catch the edge of your pocket so it opens as you pull it out of your pocket! now im faster than my brother at that. it has a thumb stud for manual opening which is just as easy.
- and it is very sharp, too (i cut some chuck roast with it and it was like cutting butter!).
- im also left-handed and alot of people complain that the clip cannot be put on the other side. i was worried about that, too. but after a couple of tries with my right hand, it feels natural to me now carrying it on my right side.
- also, the butt of the knife can break cement blocks! so just imagine what it would do to someones face or skull who is trying to hurt you.
- the handle is very grippable-no slipping and because its light-weight, very maneuverable. i love the feel of it in my hand-not too big and not too little. by the way, i have little hands.
- it has a liner lock but this ones pretty thick. in other words, the blade will NOT close on your hand while using it.

i think its the perfect self-defense weapon for a woman because its: lightweight, very sharp,super-fast deployment, and even the handle can be used to fight off an attacker.

Strong little knife rock solid lockup.no blade play up or down side to side . Very lite stilleto style knife. Note, do your research on what your buying, this is not a utility knife. The cold steel tilite is a reliable weapon!

Like most Cold Steel knives this knife is a very high quality piece of equipment. The edge is razor sharp, the handle feels good in the hand and the design of the knife allows it to be deployed with lightening speed. This knife was a birthday gift from my little brother and I carried it daily for about 6 months until a design flaw became so painfully apparent that I never carried it again. The knife is carried using a pocket clip in a position to where the tip of the knife blade is at the top of your pocket (point up).

One evening I was riding my motorcycle and pulled into a gas station to fuel up. It was cold outside so I took off my gloves and I went to pull my wallet out of my pocket (which I kept next to the knife) and promptly sliced the tip of my finger so bad that I needed stitches. Blood everywhere and as you might imagine it hurt pretty darn bad. The little tab on the blade that operates as a hand guard and allows it to open one handed had worked the knife open about an inch, but the blade is designed in such a way that the tip will just bite right into flesh as if were nothing.

I do not recommend carrying this knife in your pocket unless you tighten down the swivel screw so tight that it defeats any possibility of accidentally opening on you (I never did find the "sweet spot"). Of course if the clip were the other way around I suppose you could cut your leg instead of your hand, but at least this would allow for the tang/hand guard to be at the top of your pocket rather than the bottom where it gets constantly bumped. I did try carrying it for a while with nothing but the knife in my pocket and that did work out better but truthfully, there are better designs out there to be had without all the fear of self injury.

Great quality knife...incredible design flaw.
