5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Knife!
I wasn't a big fan of this knife when I first saw it, a little over a year ago. I tend to like more "traditional" looking stilettos. However, I caved and decided to get one. The price was right. It took a little warming up to at first, but man do I love this knife! It's insanely sharp and opens as fast as a spring-assisted or automatic. I love the fact that it snaps...

3.0 out of 5 stars Coolness over practicality
This is a tactical stiletto style knife, plain and simple.
PROS: Looks cool. Locks up like a tank. Reasonable weight. Well-built. Razor sharp out of the box.
CONS: The finger guards (double as flipper/wave openers) are uncomfortable for gripping and will chew your pants up. Wave feature sometimes opens the blade when you want to just draw it closed...

I love the fact that it snaps open with a loud "THWACK!" And it can easily be closed with one-hand as well; the locking mechanism's release is appropriately placed to allow for this. The only thing I didn't like was the pocket clip, I found it a little robust when carrying the knife in my back pocket. I removed it with a size 4 Torx screwdriver. Problem solved! I definatly recommend this knife. It's superb and if you'll notice the zytel model (the cheaper model) is an ounce or two lighter than the titanium one. Go for the zytel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Quality, August 12, 2006
By
This review is from: Cold Steel Ti-Lite Zytel Handle, 4-Inch (Sports)
The Cold Steel Ti-Lite with the Zytel grips seems to be a very well made knife. The Ti-Lite comes with a razor sharp edge and the point is needle-sharp. The fit and finish overall is very well done, the only way you'll find a better quality build would be to spend much more on a blade from a custom knife maker.

The knife snaps open with an authority that turns heads every time. With a little practice, the knife can be drawn and opened at the same time by catching the ridged blade base on the corner of your pocket while swiftly drawing the knife straight up out of the pocket.

The knife features a liner lock, which I am not fond of, but this one seems to lock plenty strong. The knife is meant for right handed carry and use, with no options to switch the pocket clip for left-handed carry, nor is there a provision to move the thumb-stud to the other side. Because of it's lack of ambidextrous features or provisions to convert to left-hand use, I give the knife a 4-star rating instead of 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent knife, July 12, 2006

This knife is cool looking, sharp, and tough. The blade that came with my order was superior to the one advertised. Mine came with Aus 8-a in stead of 440a. (The aus8 a is better). With a little loosening up and a drop of oil, this knife flies open. The picture doesn't show quite how cool this knife is. It was bigger than I expected. Still, 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best knife I've ever owned., April 1, 2011

This review is from: Cold Steel Ti-Lite Zytel Handle, 4-Inch (Sports)
I originally purchased this blade for an every day carry (and for protection against muggers), since it's the best of both worlds when it comes to my choice of a knife. Looks and feels like an automatic, but in my state is legal to carry, because it isn't spring assisted (I'm from Texas.)
Unwrapped it with a huge smile on my face, and when I flicked it open for the first time, it was a little stiff, but one quick spray of WD-40 and I can flick it open just as fast as any automatic.
This sucker is DURABLE. Maybe even a LITTLE TOO DURABLE. The metal clip is VERY stiff, and I can't really clip it on to most of my pockets, without an excessive amount of force. But that's fine with me.
This knife is DEFINITELY NOT MEANT FOR CHILDREN! I would recommend getting your child something cheap and only sharp enough to cut paper if they are wanting a knife.
This baby came sharp enough to cut my arm hair off! Cut it clean off with just a loose swipe across the top of my arm!
Which, I was SUPER happy about, because I was going to buy a $30 knife sharpener, and I am SO glad that I didn't.
If you're looking for a knife that feels as gangster as a stiletto, but don't really care about it being auto, BUY THIS KNIFE. For $30-$40 you won't find a better knife. Also check out the official video for the Ti-Lite on the official Cold-Steel website, it truly shows how badass this knife is, so you don't have to ruin your knife figuring out it's limitations!
Good day! And enjoy feeling like Freddy Krueger if someone tries to mess with you!

This is one of the best personal defense knifes I have ever owned. You can puncture the heart or aortic valve easier than any other edged weapon I have ever used. If you need to make an edged kill trust me this is the blade for you.
Thanks to Cold Steel for their product, it truly is a professionals choice.

This knife is suberb!
Sharp, quickly opened, sturdy and well designed it makes the old stiletto obsolete, while remaining legal most places and actually being a serviceable all-purpose blade.
This knife could serve as a hunting knife, work knife, or an emergency back-up weapon for a police officer or soldier, even as a rescue knife for the firefighter.
Need a knife?, this one will do nicely.

I bought this knife for my husband he had to have it and he just loves it. He has always had a thing for knives and this one is his favorite so far. He thought he lost it the other day and was losing his mind and when we found it in the car it was sweetness for him once again!

Nice, solid, and inexpensive knife. The only thing wrong is the awkward opening. You can open it on the hem of your pants, but it's tricky to open in your hand with only your thumb. But, it's possible with practice. I love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best knife I own and my preferred EDC., August 19, 2010

This review is from: Cold Steel Ti-Lite Zytel Handle, 4-Inch (Sports)
Before buying this knife I had never had an every day carry (EDC) knife with a 4" long blade and wasn't sure if I would carry it. However, from the moment I removed it from the box I was completely in love with it and it's been my preferred edc for about 2 years now over knives like the kershaw leek, spyderco endura, and sog flash II. The two best parts of this knife are:

1)Aggressive opening! The design allows the knife to deploy while drawing from your pocket if you want it to, which means you have a knife ready quicker than would with a switchblade or assisted opener. Many people actually mistake this knife for an automatic. Even just using the thumb stud with the knife out of the pocket allows it to open as quick or quicker than assisted and automatics. The liner lock is SOLID since it's folded over to contact the full width of the blade- a cold steel exclusive as far as I know. This also contributes to the intimidating sounds it makes when opening.

2)Rugged design. Boy this knife has taken a helluva beating. I've used the butt end of this knife for light hammering task without causing any damage. Part of the blade that sticks out from the other end while closed has also been useful in various prying tasks. My friend locked her keys in her car and I used this knife (closed) to pry open the door enough to get a rod inside to manipulate the lock. It takes a razor sharp edge very easily and maintains it for a long time.

Only thing I didn't like so much is the pocket clip. It's strong but presses hard against the handle and after a year or so of carrying it in the same jeans, the edge of the pocket started falling apart. All I had to do was take some pliers and bend it so it was just almost touching the handle.

Strong little knife rock solid lockup.no blade play up or down side to side . Very lite stilleto style knife. Note, do your research on what your buying, this is not a utility knife. The cold steel tilite is a reliable weapon!
