This was what I have come to expect from Cold Steel. Excellent all the way around. The guard fits tightly.
The weight is enough for practicing. Stiff bladd without being brittle. If you are looking for a high quality training dagger you can't go wrong with this one from Cold Steel.

My 13-year-old wanted two of these because his earlier swords were too big to play with his younger brother. These were perfect! They are holding up well, but are also active teaching tools and good physical exercise. Neat!!

If your using the long sword from cold steel this is a good companion to have since if you are sparring with someone using the hand and half it will give you a few more options and also can work as a substitute for the normal buckler you might not be able to find.

A cold plastic blade, really intimidating, not just for the form but also for the hardness of the material....Perfect to practice ancint fencing. However, it can do a lot of harm, so I recomend to buy a fencing mask and a coat first.

Bought one, liked it so much I ordered a second!
Everything about it is perfect. It's well-balanced and not too light. It's very sturdy; it probably won't ever break considering my experiences with all of Cold Steel's training weapons. The hand guard, once on, does not wiggle off like the their bokken's hand guard. Everything is great.

good deal with a little work,
This review is from: Cold Steel Training Dagger Polypropylene Handle with Blunt (Sports)
It is an extremely long weapon, about two inches too long for me. Its also very heavy, significantly heavier than my steel blunt. But it is nearly indestructable, I have beaten the crap out of it and it is still functional for all its scratchs and dings. I would like to note that when I got it there were some sharp and pointy bits that could have hurt somebody. A little sandpaper and five minutes and it was perfectly safe (well as safe as a practice weapon gets). All around its a good deal, mostly because its so much cheaper than comparable wooden wasters and will last forever.

"One persons short weapon is another long weapon." Is how I would sum up these training weapons. This is does come without a scabbard, and seems to be suited for training styles of double the normal weight for what it simulates. One needs to remember that it is blade shape, length, balance, and usage which tells what a sword is, then the look of the tang.
