About the Author
Clayton Klein lives on a farm near Fowlerville, Michigan, in the house where he was born in 1919. He is a part of the Fowlerville business community, having founded the Klein Fertilzer Company in 1951. He served as its general manager and president for thirty years.
He is a member of the American Canoe Association, the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association, the Audubon Society, as well as several other groups and organizations.
An avid hiker, he has walked more than a thousand miles per year for the past fifteen years, and more than twelve hundred miles each year since 1976. He is an active outdoorsman who enjoys canoeing, exploration and writing.
Darrell Klein, the authors son, is also an active outdoorsman who canoes, golfs, hunts with bow and arrow, and spends a lot of time with his family. He is now the president and general manager of the family fertilizer business with its four locations in Michigans lower peninsula.
