This review is from: Cold Summer Wind II: 20 Years of Canoe Camping North of 60 (Paperback)
Find a nice warm spot before you start reading this book. The colorful stories told take place in the "summer" where it is not uncommon to have freezing temperatures and the occasional snow storm. These stories open up the idea of an untapped area of the planet where most people would never consider traveling. People encountered are friendly and enjoy talking. For a die hard canoe adventurer these stories are priceless. If you're not sure if you would like this book look at some of the others that I have enjoyed that are similar.
Some other canoeing books I have enjoyed: Cold Summer Wind Cold Summer Wind Paddle to the Amazon Paddle to the Amazon: The Ultimate 12,000-Mile Canoe Adventure One Incredible Journey One Incredible Journey The Ultimate Canoe Challenge The Ultimate Canoe Challenge: 28,000 Miles Through North America |
