Of course, another subtext of all the films was to encourage people to embrace capitalism and start spending money so that our economy would continue to run like a roaring steam engine. History shows us that capitalism was always destined to win but at this time (even after Ayn Rands Atlas Shrugged was published) government leaders were terrified that American workers would unite and start a communist revolution at home. These are all scare tactics of course, but taken as a whole this is an invaluable historical document.

Scary,
By Arthur (America) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cold War Era: Political Paranoia (DVD)
The lengths that the goverenment would go to after World War II to convince people that the communists who had just been our allies were now our ennemies is truly astounding.I liked these film shorts for their shock value. Some of the stuff that the governemnt told people was simply scary and just plain wrong. I'm glad to have seen these films. It gives me perspective.

America First,
This review is from: Cold War Era: Political Paranoia (DVD)
I am so happy to see films that show how great America is as a nation and how hard we had to fight the communists during the cold war.I can remember when these films first came out an we were a united nation against the Soviet Union. They were a great way to educate people about the dangers of the left - and helped us win the war! I am so glad they can be seen again. Everyone should watch them!
