My favorite of the Good Knight books,
By
This review is from: A Cold Winter's Good Knight (Hardcover)
My wife, kids, and I loved all of the Good Knight books, but this is my personal favorite. It's funny, entertaining, and teaches the kids (a little) about manners. One of my 5 or 10 favorite kids books. (Kids are boys, now 5 and 7, have been reading this to them for about a year; they still like it.)

We love this book! It's fun to read and look at with great illustrations. It teaches the importance of manners, how easy it is to use them and how far you get by being polite. My kids are almost 3 and get a kick out of "those crazy dragons".

This book is the second Good Knight book we have purchased. The book tells the story of little dragons who get taken to a party so that they can keep warm. My kids love the book and laugh a lot at the actions of the little dragons. This book is very entertaining, but not quite as good as the first book we bought called "Take Care, Good Knight." I would recommend this book to anyone who has smaller children who love funny stories.

Yay for Knightly Manners!,

How could we pass this story up given that we were planning a winter knight themed birthday party? My 5 year old son adores this tale about a gentle knight who teaches cute but mischievous dragons to use manners. I love how a knight is used for something besides fighting... yay for gallantry and chivalry! The only drawback for me is repetitive text/story format. I was glad to take it back to the library after a month of re-reading it nearly every night. However, I did end up checking it out again, and he loved it, again. It is on our wish list!

All of the Good Knight series hold a special message for children and are written so there is humor but still a lesson.

The three little dragon's are back along with the good Knight, but this time they are very cold and the Good Knight offers them a warm castle with a glowing fire, but can the little dragons remember to mind their manners during the very important ball at the castle?
This Good knight story is written at a higher reading level than, Good Night, Good Knight and Get well, Good Knight making it a better read for advanced 2nd grade readers rather than beginner 2nd grade readers. This is a great read-a-loud for children 2 and up with colorful illustrations and a lesson about manners and how important using your manners can be. Also, great with a castle theme.

This totally zany story was a lot of fun and it did have a lesson to impart to mischievous boys and girls!,
This review is from: A Cold Winter's Good Knight (Hardcover)
Three little dragons were sitting in a cave in the forest and they were very, very cold and shivering up a storm. The only thing smiling was the little snowman just outside the cave. Their teeth were "chattering so loudly" that it could be heard "all the way to the king's castle." The Good Knight came over and invited them to come to the castle. His only request was that they "mind their manners." That didn't seem like a hard thing to do,
There was a big fancy party going on and they were nice and toasty by the fire. A bit more fire would be just the ticket and so they blew into the fireplace and you can guess what happened. Ahhhh, cough, cough! They ran to douse the fire with a punch bowl and got the Good Knight instead. Things just seemed to go from bad to worse as the evening wore on. They tried to behave, but that chandelier was mighty inviting. "COWABUNGA! YIPEE! YAHOO!" Now they were really in trouble and how were they going to get out of it? This totally zany story was a lot of fun and it did have a lesson to impart to mischievous boys and girls. The story line flowed very smoothly and the art work meshed very well with the tone. I especially loved the wide-eyed little dragons. If you have an imp or two or three in your home or classroom you might want to consider a copy of this amusing little tale! |
