About Under Armour

It started with a simple plan to make a superior T-shirt. A shirt that provided compression and wicked perspiration off your skin rather than absorb it. A shirt that worked with your body to regulate temperature and enhance performance. Founded in 1996 by former University of Maryland football player Kevin Plank,

Under Armour is the originator of performance apparel - gear engineered to keep athletes cool, dry, and light throughout the course of a game, practice, or workout. The technology behind Under Armour's diverse product assortment for men, women, and youth is complex, but the program for reaping the benefits is simple: wear HeatGear when it's hot, ColdGear when it's cold, and AllSeasonGear between the extremes. Under Armour's mission is to make all athletes better through passion, science, and the relentless pursuit of innovation. Every Under Armour product is doing something for you; it's making you better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Liner Gloves with Exceptions, January 7, 2010
This review is from: ColdGear® Liner Gloves Gloves by Under Armour (Misc.)
These are Good Liner Gloves!
But please take note:
They were meant to be used for Lining the Inside of Durable Outer Wear Gloves or Shells
To "trap" body warmth.
These liners by themselves, are NOT Waterproof, nor Windproof, nor Grippers nor for Rugged use.
Layers of Poly, Fleece and the like, help to keep in warmth--keep out the cold and wind.
Of course these kinds of "Liners" can be worn for less frigid seasonal weathers
While Running, Hiking, Biking, Walking the dog around the lakes.

5.0 out of 5 stars When kept in perspective they're AMAZING, December 30, 2010
This review is from: ColdGear® Liner Gloves Gloves by Under Armour (Misc.)
As a college student who when walking across campus in 30 degree temperatures and rarely less than 10 MPH winds I was often cold and looked into things to keep me warm. My roomate convinced me to get a North Face Triclimate jacket (highly reccomend btw) so I did that but I also wanted something to keep my hands warm. I didn't want a big pair of gloves because I was simply walking across campus, not playing in the snow, but I wanted something just as effective. So I narrowed it down to the UA Cold Gear Liner and the North Face Power Stretch pair. In the end I got the UA Cold Gear Liner because I had experience with UAs Coldgear material before. I was a little nervous about it though because after a lot of research I had seen several people state that it didn't block the wind which was a big problem for me since the winds are ALWAYS 10 MPH, though usually more.
I got the pair and initially was very pleased upon opening. I love the way it fit snugly to my hand and wasn't bulky. So I tested it the very next day going to class. At first I kept my hands in my pocket and was very impressed how warm my hands STAYED. Previously I would keep my hands in my pockets but they would, without failing, get sweaty and then they would freeze again. ColdGear prevents that; it rocks! I highly reccomend anything from UAs Coldgear line. Unfortunately, my research was right, the wind pierces right through it. So if you ride a bike or something where you can't shield your hands these won't be ideal. Other perks of the glove include a grippy palm side, felt around the thumb and pointer fingers, and the ability to use a touchscreen phone/screen through the material. For those times Im just rushing to get dinner from the dining hall its nice having the gripy palms to hold my drinks and stuff and not have to worry about it spilling. The felt around the fingers are awesome for wiping glasses, goggles, and quite frankly... your nose. But my favorite side perk is the ability to use my phone without having to take off my gloves. My roomate was stunned when he first saw me do it.

So in the end it was NOT the do-it-all machine I was hoping it would be. It couldn't block the wind. But lets be perfectly honest. As a liner its NOT supposed to do that. If I wanted something that would block the wind I would need a bigger set of gloves and I had no desire to wear big heavy set. Fact is a lightweight pair will NEVER be able to do what a heavier set can. So as light-weight set of gloves, it is perfect. I'm not sure its worth $25 but I don't have any regrets about getting it either. I'm glad I did. I love 'em. I highly reccomend the pair as long as you keep in mind what its designed to do. If you expect them to be a do it all pair then you will be disappointed but when kept in perspective they should make you very pleased you got them... especially if you can find some that are discounted.

Another Nice product by Under Armour!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that these are excellent gloves for driving when its cold. Everyone knows driving with a cold steering wheel sucks. These keep your hands warm and the tacky palms grip the steering wheel for extra control.

Purchased as a gift for my brother-in-law. He loves them (also got him the hood). Still able to work on cars and in his shop - reports that the gloves and hood keep him toasty while working outside in the frigid Wisconsin winter.
