5 STARS FOR THE SMOOTH, 3 STARS FOR THE PEBBLE GRAIN,
By
This review is from: Cole Haan Hand-Stained Smooth Leather Cover (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle), Dark Brown (Electronics)
I received both the black pebble grain cover and the brown smooth leather cover today. The pebble grain does indeed have the problems mentioned by others but the brown smooth leather cover does not. The smooth one covers the entire Kindle and the elastic does not interfere with the slide switch. Also the smooth one is thicker, sturdier, feels better, and will protect the K better if dropped. The pebble grain is thinner and rather floppy. The brown smooth cover is beautiful , elegant, a joy to hold and look at.
To keep the cover flat, try a book bungee from Levenger. This will also keep it from opening if dropped. Also recommend something to protect the cover from scratches when carrying. I'm using a thin elastic cover from Levenger's-perhaps no longer sold. I very much like my red m edge leather cover for the K1 but the Cole Haan is SO much nicer. I love it.

Not as good as M-Edge Leather Case - save your money,
This review is from: Cole Haan Hand-Stained Smooth Leather Cover (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle), Dark Brown (Electronics)
This case looks great on the outside, but when you pick it up you realize how light and flimsy it is. Not a 100.00 case at all - truthfully about a $40.00 case. The interior lacks useful pockets like the M-Edge case. Also the straps that hold the Kindle to the case are elastic and the Kindle comes out of them easily while the M-Edge has leather straps. I had to try this one out because it does look nice on the outside, but I will be returning it and buying my second M-Edge cover.
Take it from a Kindle 1 and 2 owner - skip this one

Cole Haan consistently makes high-quality products,
By
This review is from: Cole Haan Hand-Stained Smooth Leather Cover (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle), Dark Brown (Electronics)
The previous commment-writer has gone through every folder posted by Amazon and trashed everything made of leather, and praised Kindle 2 folders made of synthetics period. It's not likely he has them all by now. This is not an animal rights-con\leather site to make a statement etc. Shoes, car seats etc. still leather-period, it's here to stay. Cole Haan always makes high-quality products and for those of us that like their shoes, we aren't surprised at the high-quality folders for Kindle they make. They continue to be top-drawer.
