I bought this with my new Kindle. It LOOKS nice but design wise it's terrible. It makes the Kindle much heavier and bulkier. Also like the other reviewer said you can't really fold the cover back. If you read your kindle like an actual book and didn't get it because of it's ease in portability then perhaps this is suited for you. Otherwise opt for the Cole Haan soft cover. I exchanged for that one and am loving it.

I purchased this luxury case for my newest arrival, Kindle 2. I wanted to swaddle my little one in the best of the best. Nice leather, absolutely. Trendy black patent, oh so chic, you betcha.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed in the bulkiness of this cover. I bought my Kindle 2 because of the sleekness, the ability to carry it in my purse when I know I may have a wait; to have it when traveling without the weight of a book or two. With this in mind why would I want this cover?? With my Kindle in the cover it's like carrying a book, so for me it defeats the purpose.
I am sending it back as I have just received the OCTOVO sleeve for the Amazon Kindle 2. Admittedly the OCTOVO lacks the plushness of the Cole Haan cover, but it's way more practical.

I gave it 3 stars because it's good quality.

I bought this with my Kindle 2 b/c it matches my Cole Haan purse. Unfortunately the weave was messed up in one place and one of the strips was actually twisted. This was completely unexpected for a Cole Haan item. Beyond the looks it does add a good 1/2 inch to an inch to the kindle width and the elastic bands were difficult to secure and can't say that I trusted that the Kindle wouldn't 'pop out' of one corner and slip out unexpectedly. If you want to store your kindle in this, but not read with the cover on, it might work.

My new Kindle cover is beautiful. Not only does it look great, it protects the screen. So glad I bought it!

This Cole Haan Kindle 2 Book cover is a luxury that goes very well with the Kindle 2. If you can afford the Kindle 2, why not get the best cover and show it off as well.
It gives the reader a very book like, natural feel. It also protects your new Kindle from being scratched or dropped or otherwise molested. It also adds a certain degree of privacy as you read. And having the device covered in the back does not affect the sound quality of the speakers.
I read a lot in bed at night and find that I can attach a light to the front cover and not disturb my bed partner, as the light is completely shielded by the leather cover.
That is the practical end of it. I have very high-end tastes the hand woven leather is very stylish and it is as unique as the Kindle 2 is.
If you appreciate the niceties in life and the quality of handmade things, and recognize Cole Haan's reputation and enjoy your Kindle 2 as much as I do, I thoroughly recommend the Cole Haan Hand-Woven Patent Leather cover.

This cover is not cheap. Then again....you get what you pay for. The cover is absolutely stunning! Yes, it is a tight fit at first. However, anyone that wears Cole Haan shoes know the drill. They may not be perfect at first, but give it time. Soon they become a PERFECT fit. The leather is beautiful and I have the shoes to match!

This cover is a great improvement over the original cover because the kindle stays securely in place. There is an elastic band in each corner. My kindle 1 never stayed put when clipped to the back of the original cover and this also seems to be the design of the new "cheaper" covers. I don't think this cover is worth the money unless you want it to match your pocketbook which is why I bought it, but I hope that Amazon will copy the design.
