I had to wait a while for this item to be stocked, but it was more than worth the wait. What a beautiful cover. It gives the Kindle a substantial feel -- nice to pick up, fold the cover back and start reading. The light bronze color is stylish, not flashy in the least, and the hinges allow for full access to all the buttons. I absolutely love this cover and recommend it without reservation.

Great product. The hinges fit easily into the Kindle. The cover folds back and makes it easy to use the left navigation button. It's thickly padded and really protects the device. I dropped a Kindle so I really wanted to protect my new one. Two thumbs up!

There's not much else to expect from Cole Haan, I've used their products for years now. So, when I saw this beautiful Kindle cover, I bought it! It's a goldish-bronze, not a reddish at all. In person it's is a bit lighter in color than it appears on my laptop monitor. It looks like it's made by a manufacturer of fine leather goods. The logo isn't too obvious, I am not into 'conspicuous consumption'. I avoid buying things that have a logo one can't miss, just not for me. You have to LOOK at the cover to see the logo, which I think is perfect.

It is well-padded and the hinges are easy to insert and remove, which is important to me because it's not a lightweight cover by any means. I take it off when I'm reading in bed so that I can balance the Kindle in my left palm and reach the page keys with the same hand. There is a small pocket on the inside cover that I have found handy for boarding pass stubs and other small bits of paper. A credit card would fit into it sideways easily.

I don't use it that much at home. I put it back into the cover when I take it out or when I travel. It fits nicely in my handbag (a mid-sized handbag).

I think it's truly worth the extra expense (this was posted when the cover was over $100 dollars, now it's a steal!). Several people have stopped me in airports to ask about the cover, it's that striking.

Update 8/20/10:

I've seen a lot of people comment in the forums about cases that atttach using the hinges can crack their Kindles. I've been using this cover for about 9 months now and have had no problems at all. I think people must be referring to a different brand of cover. I can open the Cole Haan cover from the back by mistake and I've never seen any indication of stress to the Kindle. It may be the way this cover is made that makes the difference.

I've flown with my Kindle about 5 times now and carry it with me quite often in my purse and the cover still looks brand new. I see no sign of wear on it at all, it's definitely of very good quality.

Grab this while it's so inexpensive. With the K3 coming out, this will probably be discontinued.

I've had this cover on my mental wish list since I purchased my Kindle about 6 months ago, and I've finally received it! It is absolutely incredible. It is presented quite nicely in a beautiful box, in the event you're considering it as a gift. The bronze color is a bit darker than I thought it would be, and for that reason I wanted to mention that I think this cover would be great for either men or women. I know my husband wouldn't have a problem carrying it. The woven pattern by its design creates a very well-cushioned and secure cover for the Kindle. I have four M-Edge leather platform covers in various colors, which I also highly recommend, especially if you like to read while eating, as I do, as they prop the book open quite nicely. I will continue to use those on a day-to-day basis at home and will save this beautiful Cole Haan cover for the times I go out to appointments or on trips with the Kindle. I can already see that this cover is the ultimate in design, security and style. Unlike my platform-style covers, this cover has the little hinge system, which I really like so far. Thanks to that previous reviewer for letting us know to insert the bottom hinge first :-) I can't wait to take my Kindle out in its beautiful bronze accessory! I anticipate receiving many compliments on it. I give it the highest recommendation. Yes, it is one of the most (if not the most) expensive cover that Amazon offers for the Kindle 2, but in this case, as in many, you definitely get what you pay for. Ten stars!

This cover is drop dead gorgeous. It feels amazing in your hands and contributes significantly to the feeling you're holding a good book. I am reading again thanks to my Kindle and this beautiful cover. I can't put it down! I'm so spoiled, I have no idea what it's like to read a Kindle without this soft, rich, buttery leather in my hands. The perfect gift.

I was so happy when I opened the box and saw my Cole Haan Kindle cover. I must admit I had great apprehension after reading the mixed reviews. I was first attracted to the purple or red patent leather, thought they were fun; feared they could look cheap. So I went for the safe bronze leather. I still thought I might be disappointed after the reviews.

This product is beautifully made, to those who thought differently and returned it; you must have received a bad one. This is a quality item.
I do admit attaching the Kindle took a little time. You have to get the bottom clip in first. This took a little patience. I must have attempted it 10 times, the first nine attempts the bottom clip went half way in, the tenth time it slid right in.

This is a well-made, attractive cover. The inner surfaces are soft and protective and when the front cover is folded back, holding the Kindle is comfortable. My only issue with it is the bulk. While I generally carry enormous, oversized handbags, sometimes I want to carry a smaller handbag and it's tough to fit my Kindle in with the other items if the Cole Haan cover's on it. I've switched to an OCTO slip cover for daily use because on most days, I read when I can find time to read and the OCTO adds no bulk to the Kindle. If I'm at home and get a chance to read for prolonged periods of time, though, I move it back to the Cole Haan because holding the Kindle for long periods of time is much more comfortable with the cover on it.

I purchased my Kindle just before a trip to Europe. Absolutely love it! Purchased this cover at the same time and am so glad I did. I had just a little trouble getting the "hooks" attached correctly to the Kindle, but once I did, they stayed securely. The leather is beautiful--really like the bronze color--quite elegant. The cover stays closed for me without any kind of strap and truly protected the Kindle through all my travels. I kept it in my carry-on bag and never had to take it out for security clearance! It does add a little weight, but not as much as it looks like. I was also able to hear my audio books while I was driving without removing the cover (no microphone). I can't recommend it highly enough!

My Cole Haan Kindle 2 Bronze leather cover is absolutely fantastic, expensive but I consider well worth the money, well made, super to look at, lovely to feel and it has the Kindle clip too. This cover is certainly the best one that I have and I have 3 all in leather but this is just the ultimate experience and the fantastic Kindle 2 deserves it. Also what a pleasure it is to sit reading with this super cover in your hands. And I received this within 3 days of ordering and I live in the UK, super service from Amazon yet again.

I received my Kindle as one of my Christmas presents and it had simply never occurred to me that I needed to cover it. After one week of my beautiful, new toy rattling around in my handbag and a near-drop experience in my kitchen I knew I needed to do a better job of protecting it. There are many options but the this woven, bronze leather cover by Cole Haan represented a stylish alternative to the neoprene or sticker choices out there. It does make the Kindle about twice as thick but consider that to be the cushion needed if this electronic wonder would slip from your hands onto a travertine floor. Yes, this cover is rather pricey but you are paying for workmanship and quality. Consider this a must-have accessory - one that you will use every day - and then enjoy the look and feel while you fashionably read.
