I'm a little over 6'1 and 195. I'm a solid size 12 in most shoes. I read a lot of reviews about how these didn't fit true to size in either the heel or the toe. I felt like these fit very true to size. I read reviews about how the unique pattern on the bottom of the shoe "slipped" or took some getting use to and I don't feel that at all. I feel very little difference and no slip at all. The rubber pattern on the bottom actually grips better than normal in my opinion. It's hard to please everyone, but I feel like I got a brand new shoe that is exactly what I was looking for. Very happy and about $60 less than what zappos had it listed for!
I have been wearing Cole Haan for 20 years. The fit has been consistent until the last 5-7 years. Not sure if the overseas outsourcing has resulted in this or simply the expansion of their line to include so many different styles. Either way, I love these shoes. Only reason for 4 stars is the fit is about a quarter size small. I would prefer a touch bigger (I wear socks in these). If you're going bare in the shoe, then the size is probably pretty close. Nonetheless, I just feel a tiny bit cramped. The color is a nice deep brown, and the quality is what I expect from Cole Haan. Would buy again, but probably a 10 next time . . .
The shoe is a little too tight in the toe box, and loose in the heel, kind of a different combination. I've had better fitting Cole Haans. It's a rather stiff shoe for a moc, and I haven't broke them in yet, but they will be okay eventually. Great looking shoe, great quality, and I bought them right. Feels like a 9 1/2 in the toe, 10 1/2 in the heel.
When I first tried these, I had a reaction similar to the first reviewer, that I'd fall off them. After a short while you get used to the sole, and your balance is fine. Very comfortable, and great for office/casual use. Time will tell how well this design holds up, but it is a welcome alternative to some of the more clunky-soled moc designs out there.
