Top Notch Screen House!,
By
This review is from: Coleman 16 x 14 Insta-Clip Screen (Sports)
I am very impressed with this screen house. It took my Husband and I about 10 mins. to set up. It's easy to take down too. We have it set up in our yard and it has been through two really bad storms. I'm glad to say it held up just fine. It does a great job of keeping the bugs/insects out. It's pretty spacious, but as the sides are slanted out a bit, when it rains you have to stand in the middle. It gives great shelter from the sun - we used it for a yard sale we had and people kept asking if I would sell it. Naturally I answered "NO WAY!". With that said, I would definately recommend the Coleman Insta-Clip Screen House. I am very happy with my purchase.

A Day At The Company Picnic,

I bought the Coleman Insta-Clip specifically for my company picnic. I did not want family members being bothered with insects. I personally have never been camping and have never put anything together. The installation process required 5 of my co-workers (lol), 6 including myself. Breaking down the tent took 3 people and was done very quickly. The tent was spacious. We set it up over a picnic table that sat a comfortable 6 people, 2 ice chest, 7 small to medium bags with food and stuff, 42L x 28W x 30H dog crate and room for my 75 pound dog to walk around.

This screen house is a must have in Upstate NY (Adirondacks) during black fly season. It was very quick and easy to set up. The quality is terrific and the price was right (very roomy inside).

We looked around extensively to find a shade structure to take with us to Burning Man, a festival in the middle of the Nevada desert with occasional high winds, sandstorm whiteouts, and the daily hot, blazing sun. We chose this one and were not disappointed.
We practiced setting it up in our yard twice before taking it on our trip -- it took two of us to put it together, and I doubt one person could do it alone without damaging any pieces. The poles attach securely to the "hub", and my boyfriend held the hub and poles up while I walked around and attached/extended all the poles. Once attached, we set down the thin-spider frame and made sure the feet were evenly spaced. Attaching the net was pretty easy -- start at the hub and work your way out. The last clips along the bottom sometimes required a little persuasion if the feet weren't evenly spaced, but it was easily fixable. At Burning Man 2009, we set up the shade structure and my boyfriend held tight as the wind tried to blow it away before we had it staked. We set it up as before, secured it with 12" stakes at every point and used four of the six tie downs -- tying two to the car -- just to be safe. It lasted through a week of brutal elements -- sand, white outs, hot sun and occasional high winds. None of the clips broke, none of the poles bent, and when we disassembled the dust saturated structure on Sunday, it came down easily. You do need a flathead screwdriver or something to get the thin metal clips to undo the poles from the hub, but that is the only difficult part. We were able to fit our smallish 4 man tent, two camping chairs, two coolers, and a giant tote of goodies inside our shade structure. We attached sheets (with wind vents) to the outside of the structure to minimize dust and wind inside, using zip-ties and binder clips to secure them to the poles of the shade structure. Even with the added weight and resistance of the sheets, our structure stood strong. We couldn't have asked for a better shield from the elements, and we highly recommend this to anyone looking for a solid shelter that's easy to set up.

This is a great screen room! It goes up very easily, in just a few minutes, and comes down just as easily. The stakes and screen room fit easily into sturdy bags for carrying and storage.
This screen room was large enough to fit nicely around a very large picnic table, the kind they have in those very old Forest Service campgrounds, with room to spare for a few extra chairs. There are two zippered entries, one at each end. And there's a little flap along the bottom of the screen room to help keep insects from going under the bottom edges. The netting has VERY small holes, small enough to even prevent fruit flies from entering. We live in yellow-jacket country, and they can be very prevalent and aggressive in late summer. We also have a lot of biting flies. It was so much more pleasant to eat inside the screen tent, and even sit inside it, than to have to endure them this time of year. One or two yellow jackets found their way inside, but once in, they seem to be more interested in finding a way out than in bothering us. It was pretty easy to get them with a fly swatter or just "herd" them back out again. No stings! We were surprised to notice that it was a lot cooler inside the screen room than outside, probably due to the UV protection offered by the top and the screening. And yet the breeze was able to enter freely. The only negative we noticed is that the materials seem rather fragile. I guess that's the trade-off for it's light weight. The roof had three tiny holes in it, and one of the legs wasn't hooked to its partner. Neither defect affected our use of the product, and we will simply continue to be very careful with it. Wish we would have purchased this item years ago!

This screen was easy to assemble and spacious. It looks nice and the entry way was not a chore like some screens. Some screens require you to step over a small bottom piece in the entryway, in some cases even causing you to trip or stumble into the tent.
This screen/tent is a big hit. I would recommend it for parties, picnics, camping trips or just sitting out in the yard.

Stay away from this!,

It's tempting to buy this screened room because of it's size and price. But, don't forget quality! The poles will crimp very easily at the corners and I'm sure they (2 of them) would have snapped but I tossed it in the garbage before they had a chance to break. Also, the "insta clip" is terrible. The ends of the poles have a metal strip that snaps into a hub at the center. Assembly is not a big deal but when you're ready to take it down watch out! The clips are supposed to pull out without a problem. NOT. I struggled with the help of 3 people the first time I used this "insta clip" with all of us sweating to pull the poles out from the hub. It was very difficult and I can't believe I kept this as long as I did (2 seasons). Overall, this screened room is designed poorly and is not meant to last. There are better screened rooms out there! Stay away from this one!

Its a great screenhouse. We are campers and bought this to put over the picnic table. There is plenty of room for the standard size picnic table and ample room to walk around it and store coolers and boxes in it too. We got some stray cinders on it from the campfire and although it singe it, it didn't go up in flames. Just some tiny little holes the size of the cinders. Its heavy enough too that the wind doesn't blow it over.
