A lantern in camp is a wonderful thing, if you've got a place to put it. Preferably, the lantern will be above your head so it can give the greatest amount of light, and away from people who might bump into it and tip it over. This little device allows you to wrap the length of chain around a nearby tree trunk and then hang you lantern high enough to do the most good. It's also a handy hanger for your wet towel during the daylight hours. Just make sure that there aren't any combustable materials (read dry branches) too close overhead. You don't want to use your lantern to start a fire!

This is one of the must have items that doesn't add any weight to your packing, but really adds a lot of convenience. I recommend this to anyone who uses a lantern.

Great device. Once you put the chain around the tree and snug it up, it's there. I've been many places without a lantern pole, and I've used this many times to put the lantern up on a tree to throw the light. Highly recommend it. It also packs easily.

The Coleman Lantern Hanger is a great way to have light at night without all the bugs bothering you! You have light and the bugs won't bother you since the lantern is hanging away from where you are. Easy to carry..

A rather robust simple hanger for your Coleman (or any brand really) lantern. Does not collapse for packing, and will not fit in your lantern case. Considering the target audience is likely camping within reach of their vehicle this is unlikely to be overly burdensome.

Simple, inexpensive, effective. Can't go wrong.

Very easy to hook around a tree. I have hung both propane and kerosene lanterns. The kerosene lantern is obviously heavier but this hanger held it with zero problems. One of my must have camping items when I take the family camping.

Super, super useful product and takes up virtually no space vs. those tripod style lantern holders. I just wish I felt more confident about the chain that is used on this. I've had no problems yet and probably never will, but the chain seems thin making me concerned about long-term use. Just something to keep my eye on I guess.

This is a very handy accessory I have used time and time again. One of the reviews mentioned the chain is light and doesn't seem like it will last, but I think it is a good size for what it does. Having it smaller keeps it light weight, but it is strong enough it won't break. I have not worried about it failing during use. Between this and their reflector I have been very pleased.

I have two of these lantern stands and I like them. I have other types of lantern stands as well, so if I am using the others I can always use these to hang towels or coats from. Nothing like having an item that can do double duty!

I camp frequently and this hanger fills the need for something to place your lantern's around the campsite.

Growing up camping in the NH White Mountains and through-out Maine, I remember my father had a couple of these chain lantern hangers from coleman. I bought 2 of these, and was a bit disappointed with the quality of the chain. It is so light and thin, I was concerned about breaking it. It is useable, but I doubt I will get years of use out of the chain. I suppose I could always just replace the chain from Lowes or HD in case it breaks. I guess is OK for a price under $5.
