This is a really nice lantern. I use it during power outages and it actually gives quite a bit of light, enough that I can read the newspaper if I set it on the table next to me. Generally it gives enough light to safely navigate a room.

This is my 2nd lantern from Coleman. Used it when the power went off during a hurricane. Lights up a 250sf room easily when hung up!

Initially very disappointed as both arrived and would not function. Bulbs were checked in known working units,so the lanterns were defective as both bulbs were good. They were returned postpaid and replaced, and the two replacements worked perfectly. Amazon provides excellent service to the customer.

Our Church admonishes us to be prepared for almost anything. Our electricity just recently went our for several hours and i realized i needed some thing that would help light up some areas for me. This fit so i am happy with it.

It is a very bright lantern.
The design is good, too.
But it is the neck that eight batteries are necessary.
I think whether a charge type is good this time.
