Very lightweight and extremely bright.

It's also handy for working on the car and keeping hands free while aiming light at what you're working on.

I don't know how long the two batteries will last, but this really works for getting around in the dark.

I had problems getting the batteries in properly. Through trial and error, I found that when you have the back off with the clasp portion (same side as the on/off button) at the top, you need to have the left battery in normal position, with the right battery in "upside down" position. Then it worked. I have the Exploration model of the Coleman LED headlamp. There are no instructions with this headlamp and the markings inside are no help. Now that I have it working, the lights are really bright. I have a larger Coleman headlamp, and this little one seems to be as bright with less weight. I gave only four stars because of the lack of instructions which caused me to search all over the Internet for help, call the Coleman company (which was closed), a waste of about 30 minutes. The Coleman website didn't even have this lamp listed. Other websites didn't contain info about this lamp either. It might be out of production. I finally figured out how to put the batteries in through process of elimination by using different combinations.

The smaller size makes this a more comfortable headlamp for children* -- and, as another reviewer already noted, once your young kid sees you in a headlamp, s/he'll want one too! At the cheaper price, I didn't mind indulging my kids, and the lamps have been a hit on camping trips. Two slight drawbacks: (1) the lamp is not attached to the strap as sturdily as on the full-sized headlamps; on our most recent trip my 4-year-old had to keep reattaching it (which he enjoyed, but most people would find a drag). (2) Because of the small size, this lamp takes lithium button cell batteries and has a relatively short battery life -- one of ours ran out during our trip, and we hadn't remembered to include button cells with our other spare batteries. Still, I'm pleased with the purchase.

*Note that this is NOT designed for toddlers -- the battery compartment is accessible, and lithium button cell batteries are both a choking hazard and a poison hazard if swallowed. We felt comfortable giving this to our then-three-year-old, who was well past putting things in his mouth, but use your own judgment.

I ordered this one because of it's size, price and brand. It's not too big like most other out there. Came with battery & instructions. I put the supplied batteries in, click the switch - huh, no light. I though maybe I installed the batteries in wrong, opened it and everything was fine. So I though maybe I'm reading this (+ -) thing backwards so I switch them around, tried every configuration, no luck. Guess I'm returning this to Amazon. bummer deal. I really like this light.

Like others, I got these for my boys (3 and 6) to use on camping trips. The kids love their headlamps, and it keeps them away from my (more expensive) headlight.
The light is small and lightweight (1.2 oz/34 g), and so works well for kids, though it does just fine on adult heads too. The headband is a bit narrow, probably 1/2 inch wide, but it is fairly comfortable, stays put (even on running children) and very is quick and easy to adjust. The pushbutton light switch is located on the underside of the light, and is easy to turn on/off (my 3 year old has no problems). Coleman warrants the headlamp for 3 years, claims that it is weather resistant, and rates the light output at 12 lumens. It definitely puts out more than enough light to find your way around outdoors in the dark. Coleman claims 4 hours run time on a set of 2 CR2032 batteries (included), so you might go through several sets of batteries per kid during a camping trip; fortunately, these can be had very cheap on Amazon (less than a 25 cents each), so it's not a big deal to stock up.

My old headlight took 4 AA's and had regular bulb. Even though I used rechargeables, it was a hassle and after a couple of years the band wore out and you never forgot it was on your head. This little guy is lighter, brighter and lasts a relatively long time. I use it for multiple things from working on the car to moving about in the attic. Great price for a very usable product. You can buy 2032 batteries on line for very little. I got 50 of them for about 8 bucks and use them for a variety of devices from car key fobs to those little battery operated tea canles. So no qualms about the light. Only caution is there are basically no instructions. It seems intuitive enough, but one battery goes in the regular way and the other has to be upside down. In other words in a series like batteries in a flashlight except these are side by side. Love it.

I purchased this for my 12 year old son thinking that it would come in handy for when he is exploring out and or camping. As it turned out, I ended up using it for when we had a statewide power outage. This is very useful because the LED lights up really nice and bright. I used it outside, and it lit up more than my heavy duty flashlight. I hung it up on a ceiling fan and it lit up almost the entire room like a lamp. I don't know how long the two batteries will last, but this really works for getting around in the dark.

Im in the Boy scouts so I needed a good hands-free light for hiking and caving. I first bought an energizer headlamp, but the swivel broke soon and caused the light part to fall down and shine in my eyes. I got this one for christmas and really like it. The power button is sturdy enogh that it wont turn on by accident, and it's extremely light weight. The light only has one setting but is very bright. The one thing I don't care about but other people might is that the beam of light is angled down even though the headlamp faces forward. The power button is on he botton of the light. The battery life is about average, but I wouldn't recommend it for serious caving because the light isn't heavy-duty and I dont know if its waterproof. But if youre looking for a high quality camping headlamp this is it.
