Does the job but...,
By First off, I need to say that this is the first camping stove I've ever used, so I'm not sure if all stoves have the difficulties I found on this one. The burner dials were EXTREMELY sensitive to touch. I found that I was turning it up too high, then when trying to turn it down, I would turn it off accidentally. Again, I'm not sure if all camp stoves are this way, but being in my 30s, I've had plenty of experience on stoves and grills, and no controls I've used on any grill were ever this sensitive. I would like to see a product like this have a dial similar to a gas grill, where you have to press the dial and turn it to get the gas to flow and not flow. On gas grill knobs, you can turn them to low and not worry about turning the entire gas off. Not so with this product. I found that I was constantly having to bend over and check the burner very carefully as I was adjusting the flame so that I did not turn the entire burner off and have to relight it with a lighter or match. Another problem was that the knobs had no guide for how low or high the dial was turned to. This was another reason for me turning it off a lot. You would turn it lower and lower for a low heat, and then boom, you went too far and now it's off. Again, with a less sensitive knob, this wouldn't really have been a problem, either, though. I could have gotten by. Other than those two problems, the stove worked very well. It was somewhat breezy the couple days we camped, but the windblockers did their job well and the burners never went out due to wind. I felt that it cooked well once you would get it to the right flame you wanted. Overall, it's an okay product that did its job, but the knobs/dials could be improved.

Got Gas?,
This review is from: Coleman PefectFlow 2-Burner Stove (Sports)
The stove does what it is supposed to do, but uses a lot of gas to do it. Getting 3 cups of water to boil -- barely -- in a heavy pot is an ordeal. That plus cooking food in two mess kits for 9 minutes used an entire bottle. In windy conditions, the top and side wings are inadequate to keep the flame concentrated without using aluminum foil to close the gaps. To minimize fuel consumption, I would recommend using only stainless steel cookware in as small a size as practical for your needs. I would also recommend "practicing" before taking the stove into the field to get an idea of what your particular consumption might be. A stove in a camp site with empty cannisters is, of course, useless weight.

We've had this stove for going on 4 years now. I don't have any major complains. It cleans up easily. Easy to set up, to take down, to use, to light. I have to agree with a previous reviewer that said the dials were touchy. I've tried to turn the heat down and turned if off several times. Other than that, it cooks food and heats water. Whats not to like?

This is a very nice stove, is the second that I have, but unfortunately one day after put the order on Amazon, I saw the same stove on my local sport Authority for $20 less.
I was happy to but on Amazon every time, but definitely, is necessary to check on the local store before. Thanks Jonathan

Stove does NOT have Instastart electronic ignition,

Despite Amazon's description, this stove does not have electronic ignition (Instastart). It must be lit by another flame. When I wrote to Amazon's customer service, the day of delivery, asking for a replacement I was told that it would take one month or more to ship one, even though they show other models of the same design with electronic ignition in stock. As I needed to use the stove sooner than the anticipated replacement delivery date, I chose to keep the original one.
Because one must reach below the cooking grate, it is a bit difficult to light the stove with an match, even a wooden match. Re-lighting when the grate is hot is dangerous unless wearing a heavy glove or dropping the match through the grate, onto the burner. Another answer is to use a gas wand but they can be hard to light if there's any wind. Once lit, the stove performs as well as I expected from a Coleman product. I like the wider distance between the burners which allows for larger cookware. I would prefer to use a rechargeable gas container, rather than the throw-aways so, as part of Coleman's commitment to being "green", I'd like to see an optional gas line included for that purpose. I've been camping with Coleman stoves, lamps, tents and sleeping bags for more than fifty years. I've also used other brands. Coleman products have been reliable and sturdy.

Caution: Item contains lead,
This review is from: Coleman PefectFlow 2-Burner Stove (Sports)
Unless you see the box, you will not know that the item contains lead; a hazardous and cancer-causing substance. If you plan to have kids, it's even more dangerous. Lead has been shown to cause birth defects.
It's sad and shameful that an American institution like Coleman would resort to using lead in their products. Of course, that's a trend and bandwagon that a lot of unscrupulous companies are jumping on. Putting profit over safety. A lot of companies are putting their own interests above their customers. Beware. There is another Coleman product though that is similar, but a one-burner design. That one doesn't seem to have the issue and warning.
