5.0 out of 5 stars Burn Times (Indoors) February 28, 2011
By Kaysee
I purchased this stove for emergency use in our home should we loose all power. It works fine. One of the issues for me was burn time. I did my own experiments and came up with the following:

Boil time for (2 cups water) = 8 min on (Simmer) = 5.5 hrs burn time per canister.

Boil time for (2 cups water) = 4 min on (Low) = 3.5 hrs burn time per canister.

Boil time for (2 cups water) = 3 min on (Med) = 2.5+ hrs burn time per canister.

Boil time for (2 cups water) = 3 min on (High) = 2.0+ hrs burn time per canister.

While this is not a scientific test, it might give one a little more idea of how long they might can use a canister utilizing the above listed settings.

5.0 out of 5 stars super February 8, 2008
I got this stove to go camping with my mom. We are not really big campers(i.e. have no idea what we're doing) and needed something that would fit into our back packs. I chose this one because of the Coleman name and the low price. The place we went camping didn't allow fires only propane stoves and I didn't want to break the bank. It works great, it's very sturdy and can boil about 3 cups of water in about 2 or 3 minutes. We made coffee, eggs, all sorts of stuff. It's strong enough to hold a full size frying pan. Puts out a lot of heat. It's really easy to set up and light. Can't beat it for the price. I would recommend it highly. The only thing might be if it's very windy I don't know how well it would stay lit, but I didn't have that problem. It gets the suburban blonde girl seal of approval.

SOUP AND SPAGHETTI O'S. SMALL ENOUGH TO STORE AWAY BUT

GREAT WHEN YOU ARE WITHOUT POWER FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent stove for traveling light! April 19, 2006
When you don't want to tote along your BIG camp stove, this thing ROCKS. You'll have a hot cup of coffee in no time. It's foolproof. It's probably bulletproof. Simple, robust design, plenty of heat, a stable design -- this is an EXCELLENT tool.

3.0 out of 5 stars Well made but heavy, no fine control on low flame August 31, 2011
I purchased this to add a third burner so my girlfriend and I can make coffee while breakfast is cooking on the two burner stove.

Pros: This thing feels like it could support the back end of a 3/4 ton truck. It can crank out some serious heat.

Cons: I think it is unnecessarily overbuilt for its purpose and therefore much heavier than it should be, larger than it needs to be, and would have added too much extra weight to my camping kit. It looks like it could support a lot of weight but you wouldn't want that much weight sitting so high on top of a propane canister... too top heavy! Imagine just bumping the table and it falling over. The deal breaker was when I tested it at home I found the valve adjusts in detented clicks rather than continuously variable like my Coleman stove. The first click wasn't a low enough flame to use for rewarming coffee on my Snow Trek titanium mug. I had the same problem with a Coleman lantern I bought once where I couldn't get the valve to sit in a really low position to make the lantern burn really dim.
Summary: I returned this and found one on amazon for a little more money that was lighter and had a valve I could set to any amount of flame I wanted. Also, if I wanted one to heat up larger pots I would get one that sits on the table securely and has a hose to the propane tank.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little stove. April 16, 2010
This is a great stove for camping. At first I was concerned about weight the stove would be able to stand, since tall items are usually unstable. This was not a problem. I was able to boil water on a percolator without a problem. I later boiled water in a regular sized pot and once again no worries about it tipping over. Other than the fact that you need a match to light it, the stove is great. Lighting it is simple and easy but of course I would prefer a matchless option. If it had a matchless option it would have go 5 stars from me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best For Backpacking June 12, 2008
Coleman makes the best camping gear and this stove attachment is perfect for backpacking. Its lightweight and is wide enough (8 inches) to steadily hold any pot or pan. The regulator can be turned down very low and still not be blown out by wind. Easily attaches to Coleman propane containers and has a nice canister base that is also steady. You really don't need more than one of these for two campers. Cleans easily as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, could be much better
Other than the cheesy feeling regulator which has a real problem at low flame, I think its biggest draw back is the base. I've only used it once but so far I am not impressed. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!
I haven't used it yet, but it is a very nice burner stove. Since we are without electric sometimes for days when we have bad storms, I needed a way to heat water or a can of soup. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice little back up stove
Seems like a good price and well made. I purchased this as a backup in case our power goes out, as we only have an electric stove. Will probably use it camping too.
