The tent is made using an innovative one-piece design, with poles that come pre-attached to the tent. That means there's no frustrating assembly and no parts to lose. Made of heavy-duty 150D polyester taffeta, the Instant Tent 4 is every bit as sturdy as its traditional counterparts. The tent is outfitted with Coleman's exclusive WeatherTec system, a series of technical features intended to protect you from inclement weather and nasty storms. WeatherTec tents are built with a coated polyester fabric combined with anti-wicking thread, webbing, and zippers, all designed to keep you dry when the rain comes down. The tent's welded waterproof floor and inverted floor seams, meanwhile, dramatically increase the water resistance by hiding the needle holes inside the tent and away from the elements.

The tent is also fully taped, eliminating the need for a separate rainfly. Add in a strong, wind-responsive frame and you have a shelter that performs like a brick house during a storm. About Coleman
More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The set up and tear down is everything they advertise. Extremely easy, but watch for finger pinching! I was amazed at how quickly the tent went up putting it up by myself. Staked down, the tent is sturdy enough even in strong winds. However, mine leaked badly during a storm-water comes in the window zippers and top flaps, and I had a couple of good sized puddles under the cot legs in the morning and a steady drip on the middle of my sleeping bag. The door zipper closes at the bottom, and I found that the bottom portion of the tent bathtub floor rolled down when the door was unzipped, causing water to roll into the tent and drip down the door from there also.
The other issue is lack of privacy-I'm a Mom who camps with Boy Scouts and I'm sometimes the only woman present. With no rainfly to mask the windows, I could not open them at all while I slept. The tent is airless and stuffy with all the windows closed. The four person model is almost the perfect size for a single person with a cot and gear, but even at 5'2" I could not stand up straight anywhere in the tent. It's difficult to change clothes in. The cot barely fit into the back side of the tent, but an air mattress would fit better as the bottom floor is considerably wider than the sloped up sides.
Coleman has a home run here if they make a few modifications like adding a fly, ties for the window flaps, more headroom, widening the walls, and shoring up the floor area by the door.

another great coleman tent.I now have all 3 coleman instant tents also bought white tarps from amazon.com 5-6ft longer than the tents so I can leave the front screens open during heavy rain.

Haven't yet taken this out for real camping, but have set it up and taken it down a large number of times at the house. It really is as simple as advertised, and I just can't imagine going back to a 'regular' tent. I envision using this for river float fishing trips, where setting up the tent at the end of a long float day is really the last thing I want to do. With this, it'll practically eliminate that hassle from the camp.

Had some friends over & showed them how easy it was, they went and bought one on Amazon that same week.

I got the Coleman 1-Minute Setup screen room that's currently available at our local Costco, an 11'x11' canopy with insect screen attached for all 4 sides, and it's just as easy as the tent.

I definitely would recommend this tent (and all the other Coleman 1-Minute Setup equipment) to friends.
