About Coleman
More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark.

In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.

The main reason I picked this Coleman was for the lanyard. I wanted to be able to easily hang it from the top of my tent.

What i don't really like is the on/off switch. It is recessed too far making it uncomfortable to toggle with your thumb. It is also too small, maybe about the size of a penny, which also makes it more difficult to poke with your thumb.

The focus ring adjusts stiffly. Maybe some WD40 would help. After holding the Coleman and adjusting the focus, I can see how easy it would be to rotate your hand to focus, like the XL200 does.

It his very bright. I know that is subjective, but it easily cuts a swath of light across my backyard and illuminates the fence on the other side (a 100 ft distance or so) with ease. Even when focused as tight as it goes, it still radiates light in a cone area. On its widest setting the light distribution is even across the lit area.

Excellent flashlight. Terrific bang for your buck.

Use the narrow beam to see what's on the other side of the meadow or a critter way up in a tree. Lights up a racoon way up there quite nicely. A nice spotlight. Makes a tight 6" hot spot on the ground in front of you... so bright and tight it's not usable at the narrow setting up close like that.

When moving from narrow to wide, the central spot gets a shadow in the center... which goes away when it's at the widest focus. That dark spot during transition doesn't bother me because I'm usually using it at the wide focus which nicely lights up a 10' wide swath in front of me. I love it around camp because I can shine it around and see what I'm looking for more readily than with most flashlights that have a narrower beam. It easily lights up a whole picnic table at one pace. Very handy. Just a twist of the dial changes it so I can see if it's a deer on the other side of the road... or to read house numbers in town. We use rechargable batteries in the one in our truck and we use it all the time.

I am very happy with this Flashlight - happy enough to purchase two. We put one in the car. It has a better light than the flashlights I have used in the past and small enought to carry in your pocket. I can recommend it.

I didn't buy this light from amazon but I will say it is one of the best lights I've owned. I am a LEO and I used this at work everyday/night. Good for working on your vehicle, walking your dog, roaming the woods, tight spaces, med. distances. I use this light for almost everything I need a light for. I love the fact that I can change the focus point.

I highly suggest any fellow LEO's get one no matter what your specific job is get one it comes in very handy and lights up better than any standard issue mag light. The batterys last for a while also like I said I use this for almost everything including everyday at work and I just changed my batterys lastnight for the first time since I bought it 2.5 months ago.

Paid $25 for this little guy and wow I believe it produces the claimed 115 Lumens. I currently use it as a bike light for late night rides and does the job great. Having the adjusting focus is a very nice feature for when I want to either look whats down far ahead or just see whats around me when cruising around. Very good "high-value" product.

It's bright enough, but doesn't have a very wide beam. I thought the focus option would take care of this, but it doesn't.

I bought this because I have some Maglights but they are not LED and I wanted to get a low priced LED flashlight. When I turned this on I was amazed!!! It lit up the room. It's lightweight, compact, and fits perfectly in my emergency bag I keep in my car. This is a great flashlight for the money. If you can't wait I just saw them at Wal-Mart so go check them out there. Great flashlight.
