The handle on this cooler is too short. At 5'5", I am the shortest person in my family, and even I had to stoop over a bit to roll this thing. Taller members found it downright uncomfortable to haul. If you lift up on the handle so that you can stand upright, the cooler tilts far back toward the wheels and at times fell over on its short side. Filled with drinks and ice it gets very heavy, and is difficult to move even with the wheels. To anybody at Coleman: please invent a cooler with four wheels, (with a collapsible long handle) that you can roll along like a baby stroller. My aching back will thank you. On the plus side, the coldness of the thing was great. To experiment, I have not emptied the cooler since our picnic over 48 hours ago, and there is still ice in there and the drinks are still cold.

Before buying this cooler I went back and forth between this one and a cooler that was the same size, but a different brand. The other cooler had a lid that opened with the hinge on the short side, plus it had no cup holders or drain spout. Other reviewers complained about the poorly constructed lid on that cooler, so for me the red flag was already up for that reason. If the lid doesn't stay on or closed tightly, the cooler is useless. So to make my decision, I just needed to justify spending almost twice the price for the same size cooler. In the end I decided on this one, and it was worth it for the better constructed cooler. I took it camping so the drain spout was necessary. The ice also kept for around 24 hours in 85 degree temps. Overall I am very happy that I spent the extra money for the additional features and a good sturdy lid!

This cooler is a great cooler. Perfect size- not too large or small. Holds things cold for almost a week!

It is great for the beach. I hated lugging a cooler, chairs, bags, etc....when my daughter and I went to the Jersey Shore. This cooler on wheels helps us get to the water much easier and quicker. The top of the cooler is a great place load stuff onto also.

The Coleman 40 Quart Cooler seemed very good when I bought it. The merchandise was dirty with sticky goo when it came and I have to wash the cooler before giving it away. I feel the price of 40.00 was way too much for the cooler.Coleman 40-Quart Wheeled Cooler

Lid closes snugly. Handle is good height. Wheels are tough. Has a drain spout. Great cooler. If had to do over, I would buy the same model again.

Giving this as a Pollyanna gift, it is big and the wheels move really easy. Haven't seen on the beach yet obviously, but hoping one of my family members will like it as much I do.

A very nice unit as a cooler and a table on a boat. Easy to carry to the boat too. Unfortunately, I found the same unit for a member special 1/3 less price.
