First off this cord is 10/3 which is rated for 30amps. It has 3 15amp female plugs on the end. Combine these and you can easily get 30amps. Second off, some generators have the 3 prong plug (L5-30p) as does mine. People need to know what they are talking about before they leave poor ratings on something that they know nothing about.This cord does exactly what it says it does.

All of the negative reviews are from people who are rating this cord badly because it has a 3 prong plug instead of 4. There is a picture of the product. It would be impossible to think that there were 4 prongs on that picture. Another underrated product through no fault of its own.

Cable capacity mystery solved. The cable markings as well as the cardboard ID that came with the cable says 30 amps! My Yamaha 2800i generator is rated for 2500 watts or 20.8 amps, with a maximum of 2800 watts. Therefore this cable can handle all of the power my generator can generate and more. Each of the three receptacles on the other end are rated for 15 amps each. The three prong cable only inserts into the generator receptacle one way and locks. 25 feet is plenty long enough to let me set the generator safely outside, run the cable under my garage door and then to a convenient location near the door from my house to the garage. From there I can connect one outlet to my central gas furnace and another outlet to a 15 amp extension cable into my kitchen connecting to my refrig, microwave, table lamp, and Mr. Coffee.

OK... not too much detail here, it's a bleepin' CABLE! But, the ends seem durable, it locks well to the generator outlet, and, when we lose power, I can run my window A/C, fridge, TV or computer, and microwave. A good hurricane supply, provided you have a generator to hook it up to! I'd have given it a 5, but then, it would have to hook itself up and start the generator for me.

This cord works perfect for my generator. Please be aware that it is different from almost all others in that the connector for the generator end is "3" prong and not "4" as most are.

Cable appears to be well made. Plug surfaces clean, bright, and tight. Fits socket well. Bright yellow, of course, is useful. Maybe someone will manufacture glow-in-the-dark tags for these some day?

As other have commented in previous reviews, the package for this power cord is labeled as being 15 Amp. However, the stamped label on the male NEMA L5-30 plug is clearly labeled as being 30 Amp. It is definitely a 30 Amp plug design so there is not much question that this is a mislabeled package but the cord is actually a heavy duty 30 amp cord as described. I purchased what was advertised as a "used" cord, but it was brand new and unused. The wiring in the cable is also heavy duty, certainly more so than the wiring found on a normal household extension cord which in most cases is designed for 15 amp use. I haven't physically viewed the size of the interior wire, but if the cord's outer diameter is any indication, and it is, it is much more likely to be 10 gauge wire, which is designed for 30 amp usage rather than 14 gauge wire, which is intended for use with 15 amp cords.
I bought this cord for use with my home generator. I plan to use it to provide power to my sump pump and a couple of appliances should I lose utility power. That hasn't happened thus far so I can't say how the cord performs in real life, but it appears very capable of providing me with exactly what I need.

I checked my generator to be sure that the plug on my generator is the same type of plug installed on the cord and in fact it is. It fits perfectly. Before you purchase this cord and in order to avoid any disappointment, you should check your generator outlet, too. Be sure that the type of plug that your generator accepts is a L5-30. It will be marked right on the face of the generator. If the cord doesn't fit your generator its not the cord's fault ....it's yours for not checking.
P.S.......It's also "MADE IN THE U.S.A."

Ordered this cable during the big power outage in Connecticut with Winter Storm Alfred! Got it 2 days later along with the generator. Used plug to power appliances and other items. Worked like a charm! Great Cable!

This was recommended for the "DuroMax XP4400E 4,400 Watt 7.0 HP OHV 4-Cycle Gas Powered Portable Generator With Wheel Kit And Electric Start" because it was frequently purchased with the generator. However, the cord has a three prong end and the generator is looking for four prongs. I bet it is a fine extension cord but it doesn't work with the "DuroMax XP4400E 4,400 Watt 7.0 HP OHV 4-Cycle Gas Powered Portable Generator With Wheel Kit And Electric Start".

I'm probably going to get the "Conntek 20501 Generator Power Cord 25-Foot 20 Amp 125/250 Volt 4 Prong Male Plug To 15/20 Amp Female Connector".

This ultra power 10 Gauge generator cord is heavy and well made. It fits the twist lock on the champion 4,000 watts peak/ 3500 watts running.----model 46515. You want the (1) 5-30 to (3) 5-15 version.Champion lists the twist lock outlet as L5-30R on the box. There are several possibilities in the drop down window. It seems there was some confusion on this in another review. I just wish this same cord was made for the ---- 120Volt TT30R outlet on the generator that was meant for RV use.
