The wire seems to be pretty good, and so is the insulation. Also, the wires are easily split without exposing the wire.

I'm not sure if it is the fault of Coleman Cable or Amazon (I guess Amazon because they are fulfilling the order), but I ordered the 22 AWG 1000 foot spool and was sent a 500 foot spool. After *several* frustrating phone calls to Amazon I got them to send me another spool. I was supposed to return the original, but I waited until the second arrived to make sure that it was correct. Of course, it wasn't. I was given another 500 foot spool. I called Amazon again, and asked if I could just keep both instead of trying for another spool. They agreed to this, so I ended up getting two 500 foot spools instead of one 1000 foot spool. Fortunately, I am planning to split them in to 50 foot lengths so I didn't need one solid spool.

This speaker wire is a good gauge. It is a little thicker than the speaker wire that usually comes with A/V systems and speaker packages, but not too thick to complicate laying wire in the walls.

I looked online and did my research on cables for speakers and was thrown into the world of gauges and lengths of wire to the confusion of copper or kryptonite. I'm not sure what superman uses in the fortress of solitude but for anyone who has bought an entry level Home Cinema or, in my humble opinion middle range too, this wire is more than adequate.

Seriously, unless you're an audiophile (YES, I said Audiophile) then this wire is going to do a great job.

I was sent two 250ft spools, i wanted one 500ft spool, I also wanted same as picture it is not a metal spool it is plastic and not made by coleman a good quality brand of wire, if you purchase this item don't purchase from deerso inc. "boo on them".
