Don't Order it!,
This review is from: Coleman Compact Table (Black or Silver Top) (Sports)
I ordered several of these tables as Christmas presents, two of five arrived broken. Both of the broken tables had broken slats in the top and one also had a broken bracket on one of the legs. The tops are made out of a brittle plastic, spend more money and order a table with a metal top.

Great table: Compact and lightweight yet durable,
Despite what the other reviewer has said, this table is great. I delpoyed to Iraq with this table folded up nicely in my duffle bag with no problems. The table is lightweight, and stirdy as long as you set it up correctly. I use it for my laptop indoors, but outdoors it works great as well (provided a hurricane isn't trying to blow it around) Overall, it's a great table that's compact and easy to set up and break down. My only complaint is that the plastic tabletop slats are thin plastic and if you have any heavy items sitting in the middle of the table it will bow a little unless you place the items directly on top of the support beams. I'd buy another if I had the need for one, and everyone in Iraq has complimented me on it because they're stuck trying to find ironing boards or water boxes to set their laptops on.

Poor Easily Breaking Design,
This table is very poorly designed, same as these other reviewers, the plastic connection-joints were broken before we even used it.
We didn't notice until we tried to take it camping, so lovely Target wouldn't take it back past the 90 days, even though it sat in our garage in the new box. So I tried to order a replacement table, this one arrived broken as well. So I tried one more time, and guess what? This one arrived broken as well. I am now contacting Coleman as the table is supposed to have a 5 year warranty. But I don't want another Coleman table! I advise others with this breaky-table to call Coleman and complain! 800-835-3278 Our friends have used another table for years and it has never broken: Orion roll a table. Follow up: Coleman actualy sent us a new table with new-updated design & it works great! They arranged to have the broken one picked up & shipped us the new one at no cost. Good service Coleman!!

Great table.,

I am a U.S. Soldier and I demand a lot from the gear that I buy. I purchased one of these tables from the px and have used it in very precarious areas to go shooting and camping and it has worked great. Unlike other posts would have you to believe it is coated aluminum table top and light weight steel legs and as I recall off the top of my head it is rated for 400lbs. But it's like most gear and you have to have half a brain and set it up properly in order to have it perform correctly if you don't you will break it. so I say it is a great light weight easily portable heavy duty table that works great as long as you use your head and use the gear proper.

Bought this from the Amazon site and just got it today to find that the specifications indicated above are not correct. The table is 30in tall with a 30x30 top. Overall, I think that it would be good as a camping table in that it packs to the size of a typical camping chair. I just wanted a table that was lower for use while seated in the camping chair and at 30in the table is right about at arm pit level. Good for setting the grill on but a bit too high for eating. If you want a camping dining table, I'd recommend you sit in your camping chairs and see if a 30in high table is OK.

It does what it is suppose to do,

Reading reviews about this camping table have left me a little confused. I bought mine at a Ross department store for $20.00. I had been searching for an outdoor/camping table but most were too expensive (including this one at regular price). From what I can tell, the slats of my table are alumunium. The plastic clamps are a little delicate, but I don't plan on abusing this table. It was difficult the first time I tried to set up the table, becaues the clamps would not line up with the table slots. After 10 minutes I realized I needed to adjust the braces on the table legs to get the proper alinment. Assembled the table is solid and sturdy. I would not have any worries using this table with a laptop or or any camping duties. Its light weight I can lift it with one hand. I won't be backpacking with this table, but it folds up nicely and easily fits in a car trunk. I was undecided on three stars or four, but at the price I paid ($20) I think its a real deal, but then again I never ever pay full price for anything!

I got this compact table for our family camping trips and tailgating. I love how compact this folds in the bag; easy to pack and store in the car trunk or carrier. Set up isn't super easy, but once it's up it stays put. The table is best used as a buffet or prep station, not as a table to eat at or for games, as the cross bars hit your legs while seated. Wish the price was lower -- it would be a better value, and more acceptable in the $25-40 range.

Useful but flimsy,

I borrowed from a friend and brought the Coleman Compact Table on a 4 day camping trip to Death Valley. The table was very useful and conveniently fit into my 4Runner with all sorts of other gear. Giving this one star though because it broke within a few days of normal use. The problem is that the plastic sockets where the table folds into are very flimsy and brittle. Within two days one plastic socket broke and the table legs got all folded up the wrong way. Easy fix and working great until it happens a second time. This time another socket broke and the legs turned into a twisted pretzel of junk. Almost impossible to fold up correctly now and destined for the dump.
