The 15-watt fluorescent spiral U-tube provides a bright white light, and you can use the remote control to turn the built-in nightlight on and off from the comfort of your sleeping bag.

The Retro lantern is powered by eight D-cell batteries (batteries not included; alkaline batteries are recommended) and one set will run your family-size lantern for up to 30 hours. The reflector directs light upward and outward providing more efficient lighting. When it is time to replace the bulb, it's easy with the handy quick-release lever.

The lantern provides a lot of light for a large room. The remote control works perfectly without any problems. It even has a night light which is great when sleeping in complete darkness. We live in Florida and have the light for power-outages and hurricane emergencies. I'm not a fan of the retro-look but none-the-less - it does the job well.

Fine item with remote control about the size of an automobile key fob control. Up to 30 hours on battery (they say.) the lamp is on my bedroom fireplace mantle and the remote on my nightstand. I'm all set if electric fails in the middle of the night.

This is a really great lantern. The remote control is really a nice feature, along with the night light. I use this lanter for camping, but it also is nice if you have any power outage at home. The lantern gives off a light that is comfortable for the eyes, and has different settings depending on the type of lighting you need. I have lights in my trailer, but I found that this was great for nighttime when I am in bed, and want some light, and can turn it off by the remote. The only drawback to this lantern is the weight, since it takes 6 D batteries, it is a little heavy, but should not be enought to keep anyone from purchasing this product. Buy it, you'll be glad you did.
