Works great!!!,
By A Customer
Do not waste your time or money buying less expensive ones. It works as advertised. Inflate a completely flat car tire in about 3-4 minutes or much less time if you just need to add air periodically. No need to jack up the car. The connector for the car tires is the best I've ever seen. It screws directly to the stem with absolutely no air loss. Unlike the cheap clip-on ones that the other companies use. Coleman has always made high quality products and this is no exception. Much better than the previous 3 pumps that I bought and threw away, totally useless.

First one to work right for me!,

I am 48 and have a bad back. My daughter lives in another state so she can not help me. My husband had a stroke in `89 & is paralyzed on one side...so he can not help me. Ok, I can not use the air pumps at stations as they are very heavy, to heavy for me and I can not lean over for long that far. I have tried cheap air pumps, they don't work for me. I even bought one for $79 and it is good but you have to hold it on the tire air stem and when I tried it, I lost ALL the air in my tire. lol I could not keep a good seal.(and that one took me over 10 min's and over 20 min's for my daughter to refill the tire....she was home for the weekend.) I need to be able to do this myself , no problems, when I need it. I tried this today (got it yesterday) and it worked GREAT!!!) First, the hose you use to attach to the tire stem is just the right size and screws on for a GREAT fit and seal! Next, it sits on the ground, a must for me, I can not lean over any longer then it takes to attach it. It also has a gage on it that helps. When it says 40, my tire pressure is about 33 (it needs to be 30) so I need to learn what is what, it goes 20-40 and when putting the air in..turn it off and it goes to right mark, it reads a tad high. But easy to learn what the right mark is from using it. Everything but the big hose you use for air matterss, etc. is stored inside and attached. I love it. Also, I have a ford taurus wagon and the air stem angles a bit to the side, even my daughter had problems (no problems with her Aztec as the stem is straight out) but with this hose, doesn't matter what the angle of the stem is, it works fine and is VERY easy to attach and use. If you have any problems, as I have, this works great and worth every penney. Oh, it took me under 12 min's to do 2 tires! (including attaching and unattaching each tire.) I hope this helps some. The idea is good and usefull but, the product design is flawed.,
This review is from: Coleman DC 12 Volt Inflate-All Pump (Sports)
My wife got me one of these for Fathers Day. I was so happy... for a while. I used it pretty exclusively for my bicycles for about 6 months. Then one day I used it to inflate my car tires. It successfully filled two then sounded like it was leaking. I took it apart to analyze and discovered a plastic T-port intersection located on the back of the pump component (mostly metal) had broken at the tire inflating hose. This implies to me that the design would have been better served to incorporate a metal component over plastic at this critical point in the system. I would not recommend this product based on my experience.

Got it for my bikes after I blew my other up on a car tire.Step 1- read directions. If you do, This puppy is wicked. As fast any pump, but its got some awesome accouterments. First, you can set the pressure and its stops when it reaches it. Great when your two year old is trying to defy the laws of physics in the middle of a fill. Second- the light, which I thought was a stupid, is very very useful when your trying to the pressure on a faded tire in a garage. Third- You can deflate. Haven't tried it yet (my Two Year probably probably will shortly.....) but when you need to change a tire, this puppy comes in very handy. For car tires...as man who blew one up already, I'm thinking only for emergencies. Like a "Zombies are coming for my Brains" kinda one. But in a the occupational zombie-induced pinch, I don't see a reason not to. Either that or start following Kim K's tweets, that will destroy your brain and you'll do fine w/ the zombies.... If you thinking "I'll get this pup so don't have fix the slow leak" I'd fix the slow leak.....you'll save money in the long run....

Used it a few times right after I bought it to fill an air mattress on camping trips. Used it once to fill 5 lbs of air in my car tire, it took forever so I didn't try it for car tires again - until today. Today it would only put a couple of pounds of air into a automobile tire that only had 20 lbs in it to start. Running it for 5 minutes at a time, an additional 2 lbs of air in the tire was the best it could manage after 3 cycles. Coleman's claim of this thing comletely inflating car tires in 4 minutes is a baldfaced lie. The unit also gets very hot after 5 minutes in operation, I'd be wary of it either catching fire or starting one.

The good news is that this pump works. The bad news (for me) is that it keeps blowing the primitive fuses of my Chevrolet Venture van if I use it for more than a few minutes. I can't use it for more than about seven minutes in a go without the unit going dead.

I was optomistic of this product at first. It seemed to work well. I set the desired pressure and it inflated to that amount and shut off. However, when I tried to connect something to the low pressure inflate connection in the front, I learned no air was coming out (due to broken internal connection). I sent the unit in for warranty replacement and received a new one. The very first time I used the new one, it shut off in 5 minutes, and won't turn back on. Something inside is broken (may be related or unrelated) because there is something rattling around. The compressor is mostly constructed of plastic and does not hold up to the excessive vibration very well. Unfortunately, it is one month outside of the warranty period, and Coleman said the warranty only covers the original purchase, despite it being a brand new unit. So 2 broken units with less than a half a dozen uses total and poor customer service means I definitely CAN NOT recommend this product.

Previously I owned the Coleman Inflate-All QuickPump. It is the best 12V DC pump I have ever found. After about eight years of pumping up car tires as well as other products (air mattresses, etc) it finally gave out this year. Sadly I found out Coleman no longer makes this quality pump. After checking various stores and the Internet I purchased the Coleman Inflate All Air Compressor (12V DC). This last week I used it to try and equalize the air pressure in my cars tires. Considering what I once had this was a diseaster. The motor was slow and basically gave out on the third tire I tried to just increase the pressure in. As that was its major use--it is of no use for the purpose for which I bought it. It may be good for other things but not car tires. Too often, as is the case here, quality products are no longer made.

The unit arrived in good working order, except that the door to the storage compartment does not stay on, however once you reposition it, the door is secure.
I have found the unit easy to use and with more features than the older Colemen unit I replaced. I particularily like the fact that the pump automatically shuts off once the proper programmed inflation has occured. I would recommend this unit.

great for inflatable things.. beach balls, mattresess.. etc..
good emergency tire inflator - but don't expect to use this on a regular basis.. takes about 25-30min to fill a 35" tire to 40lbs. |
