Great Solo Tent, February 5, 2007
This review is from: Coleman Exponent Inyo Solo Tent (Sports)
Awesome solo tent, extremely waterproof and breathable, and at a little over 3 pounds and under $100, it can't be beat in value. If you are the type that keeps your pack in the tent, though, it isn't for you (You'll just have to cover it and leave it outside). It's just enough room for a single person to sleep with maybe a couple personals beside them, and only about enough room for boots under the vestibule. I took it out the last 2 nights in my backyard and tested it in some Colorado snow. Takes a little effort to get situated at my height (6'1"), and I wouldn't recommend anyone much taller than myself, but once I laid it out and jumped into my 0 degree down bag lined with my 20 degree sleeping bag, I was out for the night, even with it being in the single digits outside. I like the vent above the head (with vestibule cover), it really helps keep the moisture out while keeping the interior surprisingly warm (it was probably 10 degrees warmer inside the tent than outside).
Personally, I'm upgrading to the Coleman Exponent Inyo 2 man because I'm going to be using it as a tent for a bike trip to Alaska, where not only will I need more room for gear, but I'll be spending a majority of time in my tent (due to the rain). So I'm willing to sacrifice a couple of pounds for the extra space and comfort. I'll probably keep this for my backpacking trips though. I'll be sure to post a review on that tent also once I try it out.
