NOT the Coleman exponent Solo Cook Kit!, December 14, 2007
This review is from: Coleman Exponent Solo Cook Kit (Sports)
this product page must be for a discontinued product, as i have just received the Coleman exponent Solo Cook Kit (labeled on the box, direct from Coleman), and it does NOT look anything like the product on this page... my cook kit is *much* better, includes a stuff sack, black anodized aluminum consisting of 12, 16, 20, and 32 oz pots with folding handles that neatly nest (bonus is that the larger pot has measuring indents for oz/ml!)

I mistakenly purchased this product to compliment my Coleman 12 piece Enamelware cook set. The Exponent Solo Cook Kit is much too small cook the food for the 12 peice Enamelware Set. I would only purchase this cook kit if I was a backpacker which I am not

Solo means solo, January 1, 2007

Disclaimer - I am new to backpacking equipment. There may be better/lighter/stronger stuff that I don't know about. I have nothing to compare this to.
Very nice set for one person or two light eaters who are VERY friendly.
The bag is solid fabric. I will probably replace it with a mesh one. I like the mesh better.
The main pot will make a full meal for one. The frying pan plate serves as the lid. The pot will easily cook a ramen, the plate/frying pan will hold half the contents of the pot. The pot handle doesn't lock everything down like some nesting kits and needs to be folded down for packing or it will get bent. Where it shines is when it is locked up for serving and pouring. It works which is more than I can say about other nesting sets I have used for car camping.
The smaller bowl/pot has a dedicated lid. I use the smaller one for "cold" stuff so the lid is not very useful. The lid handle folds down and its easy to burn your fingers trying to grip it.
The small cup is perfect for coffee but not wide enough to fit on the wind screen.
The windscreen is made of light aluminum and cools down very quickly.
Nice, easy to clean, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Highly recommended if you are just starting out (like me!)
