3.0 out of 5 stars Warning: Coleman is phasing out Powermax fuel!!, June 11, 2007
I have used a similar stove (XPert) for a few years now and have really enjoyed it. It is a small, lightweight stove that can heat food/water very quickly. In fact, I liked it so much I bought a second one last fall.

My decision to stick with Coleman is one I now regret, as it seems that Coleman is not going to continue producing the Powermax fuel. They are requiring you to purchase a $20 adapter in order to use a new format fuel bottle.

On a positive note, the adapter will allow you to use ANY propane/butane bottle. I still think it is a rip-off that they charge you almost $70 for a stove and then beg an additional $20 for an adapter.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love the stove, frustrated with Coleman, August 8, 2010

This review is from: Coleman Exponent Xtreme Backpacker Camp Stove with Stuff Sack (Sports)
(reviewed by Nathan, Rachel's husband)

This is an awesome stove. The fuel lasts and lasts, providing great heat until the bottle is completely empty. It is lightweight, and regulates the flame very well from very hot to simmer.

The reason I only give it four stars is because I cannot recommend anyone else buying it unless they have a boatload of powermax fuel. Apparently Coleman is discontinuing this fuel (which works great) and requiring users of this stove to buy an adapter in order to use other fuel sources.
