Not so heavy duty,

I used 13 of these stakes over Memorial Day weekend and 3 of them bent. By comparison, I used 12 MSR Ground Hog stakes on a separate tent and none of them bent. Get the Ground Hogs, you'll get what you pay for: MSR Ground Hog Stake Kit.

First off these are not bad tent stakes.Pros Inexpensive, Small, Light Weight. Sturdy enough for most episodic campers. Easy to store and carry. Cons Head is small, cutout is shallow and may be easy to slip out of. short length good for tents in mild to moderate weather. If you have a large tent that likes to really sail away in the wind and you are going to be doing some serious frequent camping more than 2-3 times a year, probably better to get the MSR Ground Hog Stake Kit. But if you bend a few so what? At less than 1/2 the cost, not a big deal. One trick is to start the stake in rock hard dry ground, get the tent secured then take a cup full of water, punch some fine holes in the bottom and let it soak into the ground around the stake. May take several refills to soften the ground. Then drive in the stake the rest of the way.

Every gram counts when you are backpacking!,

I purchased these before a bike/backpacking trip to False Cape State Park in Virginia. I've got the standard tent stakes that come with every tent but needed something a bit more substantial as I was setting my tent in sand. These stakes were long enough and shaped in a way that they held admirably in the sand, didn't budge an inch. Also they are very lightweight and are easy to sink without much added effort. Every gram counts when you are backpacking. 100% Recommended!
